Lets start with the good points!
Food in the lodge @ night lovely, wedding meal beautiful,
rooms old fashioned but nice.. Grounds beautiful, st marys church lovely.
Bad points.........well lets start with the staff, then again i think i'll
leave that till the end, food at lunch-time cold, however ate because we were hungry, drinks are way over-priced, price of food over-priced also, if you need to visit the toilet in the lodge you
have to go through the changing area, were everyone is getting changed to go swimming, not something i care to see before i eat, (ladies & gents separate). I am no prude, however you try explaining to your old aunt and grandmother that they may see a few naked bodies jaunting about before they eat.. Now to the staff, one word can not sum up the way i feel about them, well most of them, lots do not understand a word your saying because they are foreign, which begs the question, how do they pass health and safety regulations, if they do not understand us.
I had to put up with some staff being rude, and totally obnoxious, also wanting to argue over something they clearly knew better than me, and continually said i was wrong on at least 3 occasions about the same matter, to be honest i had given up at this point, i was there to relax and have fun not get into an argument. All in all, if you want to spend lots of money on drink and food, and want to have huge disagreements with some of the staff, oh and walk round the grounds/play golf, then its right up your alley...5* its not, premier hotel its not, certified wedding and event planner( if they turn up on ur special day), enjoy...
