I've stayed at the Apex City several times in the past and always had good memories of my stay so was slightly aprehensive about returning after an absence of at 3-4 years.
However, I needn't have worried. The hotel is immaculate, the service smooth and staff happy and friendly.
We were upgraded to a deluxe room with a castle view, which was excellent, although having stayed here before I know that even the standard rooms are perfect.
Our room was huge with a king-size bed, great bath and shower-room and ample wardrobe space. Also very important for me - every room has an iron and ironing board so you don't have to call reception every time you want to iron something - this always irritates me about other hotels!
Nice little touches like in-room DVD player, jellybeans and a cute rubber duck make a stay at the Apex even more memorable and really set it apart from the rest.
To my mind, you just can't beat this hotel for price, service, location and overall experience. Yes, I know there are other good hotels in Edinburgh with perhaps more history, tradition etc, but give me the Apex any time.
We also enjoyed a great full Scottish breakfast served in the bedroom and would recommend it. Although it was about £10pp, for once it's a good hotel breakfast worth paying for.
I think you get the message by now - a great stay at the Apex City! Would definitely recommend.

PS other than breakfast we didn't eat or drink in the hotel on this occasion, but from past trips I can recommend the hotel restaurant and bar - great cocktails!
