Stayed here overnight in Dec 2007. Nice modern room and friendly, helpful staff. Only down side was, my room was really hot and when I opened the window I could not sleep because of the traffic noise. The location is really handy for Haymarket Station and its only a 10 minute walk to Princes Street. Check-in and out was really fast.

A poor 4 star hotel

Staff couldn’t care less
Food not cooked properly

Expensive food eat out if you can get room only

Learn to speak polish or Slovakian Bulgarian and you might get on ok

Absolutely terrible and the picture on expedia is not the front as the door is in a side street

Go only if you are pissed up all the time and find a cafe for breakfast

Minute rooms very poor for 4 star who gave this the rating??????????????

We stayed at the hotel for a weekend break and thought the deal was excellent value for money .The rooms were comfortable and very clean and the staff very helpful .
Their is traffic noise but it is located in a busy city road and parking is a problem however this did not detract too much from a very enjoyable weekend .
We would definately use the hotel again but perhaps travel to the city by train

We selected the Apex Euopean Hotel from a travel web-site for our first visit to Edinburgh. Not being familiar with the city, we selected the hotel off the web by location (to attractions) and price. We were not disappointed in the least with our choice.

The hotel had just been updated and the room, while small, was contemporary, very clean and comfortable.

The staff was absolutely GREAT! We were treated with highly professional and welcoming attention from the moment we arrived until we left two days later. The front desk (Sanal and Daniel) functioned as much as a concierge may have at many five star hotels. They offered directions, advice, booked tours and limo service when we were in need. They even recommended the city's bus as an option to get around easily. It stopped right out front for a short five minute ride to many central city stops. And at two pounds, fifty for an all-day ticket, it was a very economical way to get around. Without the advice, we would have called taxicabs every time we chose not to walk.

The hotel restaurant was a special added suprise for us. We enjoyed great meals made with fresh local products. The waitstaff was more than nice and performed their duties as if they were happy to be there. Management has selected well when choosing their staff.

We would recommend this hotel to other travelers or choose it again when returning to Edinburgh.

This hotel was really comfortable. We were upgraded to a superior room, very nice with slippers and robes. Also includes iron board and iron in each room. Really comfortable bed
