first impressions of the hotel were promising with the receptionist being pleasant and helpful, we were not disappointed.
The room was very spacious warm and comfortable with a huge bathroom.
Breakfast was varied and tasty, with a buffet for cold and the hot food served to the table.
No real negatives but my wife would have preferred more vegetarin choices on the dinner menu.

Been going to Edinburgh for many years now and always try to stay in different Hotels. However the Bruntsfield is without doubt the best we have stayed in.

We booked a double and were given a Master Suite at no extra cost. Imagine our suprise and delight.

Room fantastic, bathroom spotless, food in resturant great and not over priced, breakfast cooked for you.

Stayed in several 4 stars in Edinburgh yet strangely this only warrants a 3 star.

So handy for the Centre and in a nice area to boot.

I only booked this hotel because my friend was holding her wedding here and I was comming with my elderly parents. I thought to save any trouble traveling to the wedding we will stop over instead. And to honest it was the best decision I made.
The parents were made comfortable with a great spacious room and ours smaller but still adequate. The rooms had a kettle with coffee, tea few biscuits and room service. This was perfect for my folks to wake up to in their own comfort.
My farther has difficulty digesting nuts and both my parents are vegitarians. I told the hotel staff in advance and they were able to provide a great selection for them both.
The hotel was clean, the staff were fantastically helpful, polite and patient.
The location is not too bad. There are bars and places to eat within walking distance of the hotel. You can walk into town but if your lazy like me and my husband or easily tired like my folks I would advise a taxi which the hotel can book for you and it costs very little.
All in all I will return to this hotel the next time I pop over to Edinburgh.

Hotel was clean and comfortable with good facilities. Staff were helpful. Quiet location in a residential area overlooking parkland. The only downside is that it was a good 20-30 minute walk from the town centre, fine if you are fit and active but too far to walk with young children or for some elderly people.

The hotel is situated in a quiet area just across from a park and is about 15-20 minutes walk from Princes Street. Everything about the hotel looks wise is perfect, they have recently opened a new restaurant which is reasonably priced and the guest rooms were spacious, nicely decorated and very clean.

My friend and I were originally put in a double room and the bathroom was amazing, perfect for a romantic stay, with stand-alone bath and separate shower room. There was no trouble changing rooms and we were moved to an even bigger one with a double and a single bed. All the rooms have flat screen TV's.

The staff at the front desk were very helpful, we were able to check-in early and leave our luggage until late at night on the day we checked out. They also helped us out with directions.

The only reason I haven't given the Bruntsfield 5/5 is because the restaurant service was very slow. The breakfast was okay but there was only one hot choice for vegetarians.

I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others.
