Just back from a family vacation in Edinburgh over Xmas. I agree with the others. Very nice place. Great staff, great apts. good location. The little town nearby had some great spots to eat and dring. The 'liquid deli' "Demijohn" is not to be missed..great spot to pick up oils, vinegars etc..Raspberry Vodka is the best.
The strip clubs down the street were a surprise but did not seem to pose a problem.

The wife thought the apt was on the small side but this is Europe where the rooms are small usually.

We stayed at The Knights Residence for 3 nights over the Holidays. After spending 5 nights in a hotel in London it was great to be able to spread out! We had a 2 bedroom apartment, kitchen and living room. (For far less than we paid for a room in London! The apartment was very clean and stocked with basic necessities. The grocery store was a short walk and fun to see all the "different" foods. It was a short walk to what we thought was the most charming part of Edinburgh in the Old Town. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We also appreciated having a complementary video lending library at our disposal. It was great to relax with a movie after a long day of sight seeing. (We highly reccomend going to see The Britannia, Edinburgh castle, and Mary King's Close). There are also many pubs within a short walk (and Starbucks). There was also a Christmas Tree in our apartment - what a great touch!

My friend and I stayed in the Knight Residence in Edinburgh for a weekend break and I can't praise it highly enough. It is perfect for a short stay because it is so central and I imagine it would be even better for a longer holiday as you would be more inclined to use the spotless kitchen for more than a cup of coffee or a slice of toast!! The rooms were fresh and clean and contained every facility. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Great to be within walking distance of all the sights and near enough to drop back shopping bags and head out again. This was my first experience of using Trip Advisor and I am an instant convert. Will not travel again without checking the accomodation on this site.

This place is a gem. The 2 BR apartment was well layed out, quiet, spotless and had every amenity we needed and more. The concierges were wonderful! Neighborhood felt safe, even at night. Groceries, Starbucks, pubs, restaurants, sightseeing bus stop are all nearby.

We stayed at the Knight Residence for three days (Oct. 16-19, 2005. Wonderful! Big apartments, scrupulously clean, great welcome basket and the friendliest concierges you will ever find.
The location is within walking distance of everything. And a taxi can be had in under a minute at the hotel.
We had two bedrooms--both were comfortable. The bath was very large and well appointed. The kitchen had everything you could ever want, including a washer dryer combo.
We felt like pampered guests. We will return again as soon as we can.
