“Spooky and Mysterious”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

We staycationed in 2012 and decided to be tourists in our area. This was only 5 minutes away and we had passed it many times without knowing what it was. It was a really interesting tour, the staff are very knowledgable, there are great exhibits and overall - a morning well spent!

“I very interesting tour.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013 via mobile

Went to gilmerton cove on the way home after a weekend in Edinburgh.
Was a little bit worried when we parked up, just a little wooden door in a small building.... But all the worry was for nothing!! The tour guide was excellent, giving real insight into the cove but not pushing any specific therioes! It's up too you what you believe it was for!!
I could of spent hours down there!
I hope they can raise the money to continue to explore the cove.

Easy to get to on the bus and fascinating site with a mysterious history. Our guide knew her stuff and was interesting to listen to.

“what lurks beneath”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

got the No3 bus, think the 3a and 29 do also for £1.50 one way from South Bridge st and takes 20mins, for returning to the city there's a bus stop with times of buses very near to the entrance of the tour

get off just after the Gilmerton crossroads (look for the bookies ) and before the Mechanic Arms pub
the tour takes 45mins and after that you can walk around by yourself, if you dare !
a great tour with an informative tour guide
would be more scary if it was just candles lighting the caves thankfully not
worth a visit
how many people had orbs in the pics ??

“interesting, great tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

Staff were friendly and informative answering all questions well, plenty of time to take photos and wander freely after tour. Visit Mrs C's nearby for coffee or lunch.
