We had a lovely stay at a city centre hotel and had been recommended the mal maison highly from a friend.
We viewed the rooms and chose which one we wanted for our honeymoon.
we checked in and enquired about dinner "Oh it's fully booked. You have to book well in advance" we were told. "They never told us that when we booked" I said. "But they wouldn't have known that it was going to be full" we were told straight after it is always fully booked early! We never did manage to sample the hotel food! They were very helpful in booking a restaurant for us. On arriving we were uncomfortable at the wine pricelist where the first bottle of wine was £450.00! It was a lovely meal bar the cost!

It was very windy the whole weekend and the metal gratings outside banged and banged ALL night. No sleep on our honeymoon for other reasons than it should have been we complained. You sould have said and we would have moved you but it is normally only the top floor it affects! They knew about the noise!

The bedroom was too hot and the bathroom was like an ice box.

We had a lovely stay, clean nice hotel but overpriced for what you got and the staff were so nice but unhelpful. Don't think we will be going back for another sleepless night where you can't wander down the stairs for a meal, unless it's for breakfast and they don't tell you it's a rip off extra!
