I've never been so insulted in a bar. After going into the pub we were completely ignored at the bar whilst the barman chatted away to his friends. When we were eventually acknowledged we were sneered at and the barman rolled his eyes repeatedly and spoke under his breath about us when we shockingly asked to pay a food bill separately, there were four of us in as students it wasn't ideal for one person to pay. The barman suggested that in future we sit and order separately for his convenience. The bar was understandably quiet and with service like this I am not surprised. We canceled our order and left promptly in disgust. We crossed the road to the advocate and were warmly welcomed and had a great lunch. The management need to work with their staff to get them to a standard acceptable for human contact as quite frankly they're hopeless. Seems to be a reasonably sized pub downstairs though.
