Check in and service in the bar was absolutley fine. Lobby and bar appeared clean and welcoming.
Arrived at hotel and left for a night on the town without really checking out the room.
Apparently the windows are triple glazed, but the noise levels throughout the night and early morning were awful.
The bathroom was filthy, the extractor fan was clogged with black mould with the theme continuing around the bath and caked in dirt on the bath and sink.
I complained to the staff and was met with a shrug. I emailed the Radisson and still await a response.
Breakfast was good however to cater for the amount of people waiting for breakfast a 2 slice toaster was not effective in reducing the wait.

My wife and I stayed in the Radisson, Edinbugh from 23 to 25 May 2009 coinciding with our attendence at the European Rugby Cup Final. Although the Hotel is marketed as a 4 Star Hotel the service we endured on the night of the Rugby Final didn't even come close. For starters the Hotel's restaurant wasn't open despite the fact that it was one of the busiest tourist w/e's in the City for some time. Consequently, we chose to eat in the Hotel's Itchycoo bar restaurant. It was 20 mins before our order was taken. Two hours later at 11.10pm our food arrived. Because we were starving during that two hours we asked several times where our food was. Each time we were told that there would be a delay because the bar restaurant was so busy. I was so irritated by this I counted the number of customers present and it was never higher than 44 when were there, hardly a tidal wave of humanity. The food was also vastly overpriced for what got. To add insult to injury, after our meal I ordered a newspaper for our room for the following morning which wasn't delivered. Considering the money we spent to stay in the Radisson the service in it didn't come close to 4 star. The location may be fantastic but what does that matter if the service is so shoddy?

I stayed at the Radisson with my husband and four other family members during May 2009. We were in the standard-type rooms and found them very comfortable and very clean.

The location is excellent. You are within walking distance to many of the sites and there are plenty of restaurants, shops and places to exchange money close by. You are even just up the street from one of the stops of the "on and off" buses.

The staff was very helpful and friendly.

I would consider this hotel again.

To stay at a hotel that has such a central location can be a big advantage but it can have its problems too regarding noise level.

But in this hotel noise from the street or even from other rooms was absolutely no problem as there was any I could hear!

A special word goes to the bed, as the mattres was one of the 2 best I ever tried in a hotel.

The room was big, the bathroom was clean and the staff was very polite. I had breakfast at the hotel once. It was good with the usual "eat all you can" deal.

The Radisson has an offer of staying for two nights and get a 20% discount. This was an offer I couldn't refuse :-)

The reception seemed very busy those couple of times I left the hotel but they have a box besides the elevators for you the make an express check out...

Highly recommend with many facilities!

Hope these words and my pictures are of any help to you...
Best regards :-)
Oscar

This hotel is just the bees knees. The staff are very pleasant and accommodating and can't do enough to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Reception, bar and restaurant are very comfortable and having an indoor pool (though we didn't use it) must be a bonus - if we had swimming gear it would have been a bonus. We upgraded to business class and the room/amenities were well worth the money. Excellent location for "doing the sites" and would highly recommend it. 10 out of 10 !!
