Just back from a 2 night stay. Was actually on a course with work. A few people from work didn't reccommend it but I thought I would give it a try and liked it...so if you are a tourist PLEASE read on.....

It's on the golden mile, which is in the old part of the city...the road leads up to the castle. There are lots of old and new pubs and what I would describe as speciality shopping. The Main area for shopping is Princess Street. As it was December the Christmas markets were in full swing. The ciy feels quite magical at this time of year .

Back to the hotel...Check in was very efficient and friendly. My room was on the 5th floor and was lovely......massive bed...and all the stuff you need like a hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilties with Scottish shortbread. The bathroom clean with a nice shower. Didn't eat much in the hotel at night. We had lunch in the main restaurant on day 1 which was fab...day 2 was the Ichycoo restaurant which although the food was yummy the portions were very small.

There is a gym and the the bar looks very sociable. We opted for eating out in the evening and there are loads of place to go to. All in all would reccommend staying there.

My partner and I have just returned from a weekend in Edinburgh, where we stayed at the Radisson. This is the 2nd time we've stayed at this hotel, and it was just as good this time!

Location is absolutely perfect, right on the royal mile, so its only a short walk to most of the main shopping and tourist places. The bus from the airport drops you on Waverley bridge so its only maybe a 5 minute (uphill!) walk to the hotel.

Hotel is spotless, particularly the bathroom, which looked brand new, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't. Room was nice, modern and clean. Staff are friendly and efficient, although checking out on Sunday morning took a while, just to sheer numbers of people, but thats to be expected.

We didn't eat in the hotel so can't comment on the breakfast, although the bar is a little pricey, but theres numerous other bars close by in any case.

I would definitely stay here again.

A weekend at the Radisson on the Royal Mile proved to be pretty good value. Having stayed with the same chain in Brussels we were not expecting buckets of charm or style, but for the price, booked on-line, you get a clean, decently sized, fully-functioning room/bathroom, prompt service and a great location. I cannot comment on breakfast - we opted to take this elsewhere rather than stump up the extra. Solidly built and well-insulated, you are spared the noise of late-night carousing in the streets outside if you wish.
There is a taxi-rank directly outside the hotel, and it is close to the main artery to and from the New Town, making transport between very easy. Check-in and -out were, respectively, generously early and late, allowing us to maximise our time in this terrific city.
It may be bland, but the Radisson delivers the essentials for a perfectly fair price and will no doubt see us returning.

A wonderful experience...superior room comfortable, large, and quiet, with a great view of the royal mile, service exceptional.
Itchycoo bar... lunch great and drinks excellent.

The location of the hotel simply cannot be beat. Great pubs across the street (with live music on Sunday nights), and all the historical attractions are within a few minutes walking distance in this beautiful city.

We would definitely book again!!

My daughter and I have just returned from a two night break at the Radisson in Edinburgh. Being a regular visitor to the Radisson in Glasgow I was expecting a similar level of service. I could not have been more wrong.
The public areas of the hotel are all very "nice". This is more than can be said for our room which I found to be dull and a little rundown. The bathroom which looked in need of a facelift was cramped and dimly lit.
There was also inconsistencies within the delivery of service. We had booked a twin room yet were allocated a double. On our first night there was turndown service, on the second night there wasn't. We had to contact housekeeping for towels. We had to contact housekeeping to request that our room be serviced. On checking out we were charged forty pounds for mini bar items which we had not used. I feel that these things taken individually are "little niggles". However when they happen one after the other over a two day period it is simply unacceptable. I can't help but feel this hotel must surely be struggling to retain it's four star status.
