We stayed at this hotel for one night for our friends 50th birthday. It is in an excellent location. 5 minutes walk from Waverly train station. You can walk through the close at the back of the hotel and it takes you onto the Royal Mile which has loads of pubs, restaurants and plenty tourist attractions. The hotel rooms are quite basic but very clean and comfortable. The breakfast is buffet style and has something for everyone. Either go early or wait til later as it gets very busy. You can also walk through the station and it takes you right on to Princes street. The restaurant in the hotel is very reasonably priced too if you want to stay in. We were there at 10 o'clock in the morning. Although it was too early to check in. The staff stored our luggage for us and did the same the next day so we could go shopping before our return journey. I would love to go back to this hotel.

We have done a lot of travelling, and have noticed that the standards in Jurys Inns have dropped markedly. My wife and I spent two nights at the Edinburgh hotel and are more convinced then ever that standards have dropped even further. The hotel is tired (dirty bedroom carpets, worn decor etc.), and is the first hotel I have stayed in with no heating in the bathrooms, making for an extremely cold December shower!. The second night we were there, the hotel had what appeared to be a works outing which lead to the entire reception area being converted into a dining room/disco area (the main hotel entrance was even blocked by sound equipment). We had asked for a quiet room on the 5th floor but even so were kept up by the noise from this party until well past 1 am. One of the revellers also managed to set off the fire alarm at midnight which meant an unwelcome trip into the cold roadway in our night clothes. We were allowed back in some 15 mins later without a word of apology from the Management. Our overall impression of the hotel is one of a faded establishment living off its location. We certainly will not be going back there, there are far better places for the some outlay. One saving grace is the front of house staff, they were all very friendly and helpful. Shame about everything else.

This is the 3rd time I have visited this hotel, and it gets better every time. The location is excellent, near to everything. The rooms are spacious, clean and the breakfast is spot on and sets you up for the day. Can't wait to visit again

The location is brilliant, just off the Royal Mile and near plenty of bars, pubs, tourist attractions and shops. The room was spotless and very comfortable. There was some noise when bins were being emptied early in mornings but nothing major. The staff were polite and helpful, we had travelled by train so it was helpful to leave our luggage before we checked in and after we checked out. I would definitely stay here again.
