I came there to find a job and stayed there 2 weeks. Good deal cause good bed, furthermore the public prt are good enough and the kitchen well furnished even if invaded but the long terms boxes. You stay there 6 nights the 7th is free. Most of the long terms staying there are from Canada and not very speakable if you are not from the tribe though.

Good place to stay for 2 or 3 nights. But if more, and if nit canadian you will need to be overspeakable or you will live there for months on your own.

I stayed there alone for 3 nights and made some long lasting friends as well as met some great people. there is defenitely a difference between long termers and travellers but that's expected. they just have known each other longer and who would want to become good friends with someone who is leaving shortly anyway? great location, very clean, lovely facilities such as the showers, lounges, cheap internet and lovely people working there. plus they organize drinking contests- how could it get any better?

I stayed here for several nights and was impressed with how efficiently it was run for such a big hostel. I was also pleased with how many services were offered--TERRIFIC internet access, luggage storage, snacks and film for sale, a daily tour, etc etc etc. The staff is young and fun and knows Edinburgh inside out. One of my nights was not so good due to heavily snoring girls in my room but the staff allowed me to switch rooms (after gently reminding me that earplugs were essential equipment for hostelling). About $17 US per night.

Really good one! Located ideal downtown position, beholding fantastic view of Edinburgh. Inexpensive rent but for cordial and friendly reception.
