we stayed few days on a 15 day trip to scotland. great rooms, very comfy beds. It is a bit far away from the city centre or shopping places. Very nice boutique hotel with a good service (except housekeeping). It is a lovely hotel to stay but similar places available for tourists closer to the centre.

Room Tip: ask for the room with a copper bath on the first floor, very nice...

We stayed for one night, a Thursday, and would have liked to stay longer. The staff were friendly and efficient and we had a lovely room on the third floor, overlooking the gardens. We had booked for dinner and were very pleasantly surprised by the standard of the food and service. The timing of everything was perfect. The 'boozy snoozy' deal is really great value. There could probably be better communication between reception and house staff as we had a late checkout at 2pm but the cleaner seemed to think we should be out by noon. This was not really a problem.
My husband didn't sleep well because of a regular 'thumping noise' - probably heating.
As we had to arrive by car, we made good use of the car park and walked to all the spots we wanted to visit.
Would love to return.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a good outlook - our 3rd floor room was smallish but perfectly good and well fur...

We booked three nights at the Bonham Oct 10-12. This was a clean, attractive, well maintained accommodation with modern features. It is within a reasonable walk to most spots you would like to visit. Our room was a bit smaller than our traveling companions so there will be some variation in rooms size but nothing dramatic. There is a whimsical twist using some Alice in Wonderland touches to the decorations but nothing over the top. Breakfast was outstanding and the staff were helpful and very courteous. Small bar area is available for drinks. I would highly recommend this establishment.

Room Tip: Noise was not an issue but the room sizes do vary so you might ask to see more than one choice if th...

Beautiful old hotel in an excellent location within walking distance to the Royal mile and Edinburgh castle. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was small but well furnished. Nice breakfast included.

We stayed here for two nights for our weekend stay in Edinburgh. We booked on line and were so pleased we had chosen this hotel. It is a beautiful hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Our room was clean and had the most amazing view over the Firth of Forth, our room was on the 3rd floor. We couldn't have been more pleased and were very sad to leave!

We had the opportunity of staying at the Bonham while on tour in Scotland. The hotel has a lot of ambiance and character with upscale amenities such as Molton Brown. The breakfasts were bountiful with fruits, cereals, yogurts and an ample menu of hot breakfast selections. We had dinner one night there and it was perhaps one of the most delicious and elegantly presented meals we had on our trip. The highest accolades go to the Bonham staff who are very professional but more importantly are friendly, engaging, and treat you with first class personal service. They are truly first-class in their service.

Room Tip: The front rooms look out over the Gardens. We had a room on the rear of the building looking out at...

Can't fault anything about my recent visit for afternoon tea in the consulting rooms. Was a bit concerned that in a very small room our conversation might carry or that we'd have to put up with the chatter of others, but it wasn't so. Service was spot-on - unobtrusive but there was always someone there when needed. Couldn't eat all of the food - sandwiches, macaroon, scones, lemon meringue tart, chocolate fondant - and as much tea as we could drink. The glass of Kir Royale was a welcome addition too. Everything was spotlessly clean which is important to me. I would recommend a nice walk home in the fresh air afterwards!
