The hotels location is great and it's very cosy and inviting. The rooms are very nice and clean.

Stayed at the Sheraton again on 1st May 2008. My experience this time was again positive. Major improvement at check-in with the staff being called immediately when a queue formed. The lady who checked me in was extremely polite and efficient and upgraded me to a club room (Starwood Pref Guest), a lovely surprise.

The club room was simply amazing and truly worth 5*s. Very spacious and the view to Edinburgh Castle was (nearly) the best I have ever seen. The club lounge was also a welcome retreat.

Room service food was VERY nice and the staff were among some of the most efficient and friendly I have encountered in a hotel.

Turndown service was also great.

In all, the Sheraton is a decent hotel, offering great value for money if you can pick up a deal on Lastminute. Overall, I would say that the club room makes it a 5* hotel, but otherwise the standard rooms are much more like a 4* property. Nevertheless, the public areas are very nice and the Spa is superb. If you can get a good deal, go for this hotel. Great location and overall a very nice hotel.

We have just returned from our weekend stay at the Sheraton spa hotel. I must admit we were a little worried about the reviews it was getting, but we need not have, It was excellent .We arrived around 9.45am after a long drive and were greeted by the receptionist who was very welcoming, and to our surprise he let us have the room straight away, ( I think we were lucky the room was available), but that said we could have been asked to wait,10/10. The room was large and the bed was very big and comfortable, and most of all, it was very clean. If there was a negative it would be that the bathroom looked a little tired, but hey the rest of the hotel is fantastic. Definitely recommend the one spa £20 bargain. We celebrated our anniversary by having a meal in the terrace restaurant which once again was excellent. The staff also left in our room a card with chocolates wishing us a happy anniversary which was a lovely gesture. These are the little things that make your stay that much better. We will definitely be going back again. Once again thank you to all of the staff.

As with the previous reviewer, we got a great deal on lastminute.com so the Value for money we received was excellent and we were pleased with our stay. The location and the Spa facilities are also excellent.

However this is not a 5* standard hotel. The rooms are looking tired (as is most of the hotel in general apart from the Spa) but dont get me wrong this is a good 4* hotel and if your expectations are not at that "Mandarin Oriental level" and you havent paid the full room rate you should be pleased with your choice as we were.

A point also to note was the it wasnt the most welcoming check in I have ever had. we were not told where anything was or what the facilities of the hotel were, just a quick point to the lift to our room. This again adds weight to the fact that this hotel is not 5* standard.
