We have just returned from our weekend stay at the Sheraton spa hotel. I must admit we were a little worried about the reviews it was getting, but we need not have, It was excellent .We arrived around 9.45am after a long drive and were greeted by the receptionist who was very welcoming, and to our surprise he let us have the room straight away, ( I think we were lucky the room was available), but that said we could have been asked to wait,10/10. The room was large and the bed was very big and comfortable, and most of all, it was very clean. If there was a negative it would be that the bathroom looked a little tired, but hey the rest of the hotel is fantastic. Definitely recommend the one spa £20 bargain. We celebrated our anniversary by having a meal in the terrace restaurant which once again was excellent. The staff also left in our room a card with chocolates wishing us a happy anniversary which was a lovely gesture. These are the little things that make your stay that much better. We will definitely be going back again. Once again thank you to all of the staff.

As with the previous reviewer, we got a great deal on lastminute.com so the Value for money we received was excellent and we were pleased with our stay. The location and the Spa facilities are also excellent.

However this is not a 5* standard hotel. The rooms are looking tired (as is most of the hotel in general apart from the Spa) but dont get me wrong this is a good 4* hotel and if your expectations are not at that "Mandarin Oriental level" and you havent paid the full room rate you should be pleased with your choice as we were.

A point also to note was the it wasnt the most welcoming check in I have ever had. we were not told where anything was or what the facilities of the hotel were, just a quick point to the lift to our room. This again adds weight to the fact that this hotel is not 5* standard.

Had a wonderful time. Bed was fantastic (as they are in all Sheraton’s we’ve stayed in.) Staff and service exceptional, they even rang our room to deliver complimentary milk and cookies for our 5-year-old daughter and left a birthday card in our room for me on arrival. The breakfast was gorgeous as all 3 of us sampled the cooked selection, then waffles followed by fruit. One Spa was truly amazing felt 10 years younger afterwards. The concierge also recommended and booked a lovely restaurant for us and again this turned out to be a good choice. To top it off we had a great view of the castle from our room and enjoyed complimentary drinks and snacks in club lounge. Location was great with, cafes, restaurants, cinema, Lyceum theatre nearby, easy access to Princes Street and short walk to castle. There’s also free access to hotel’s pool situated in the spa. In terms of public spaces in hotel they were grand, traditional with cosy alcoves and amazing flower arrangements.

Was really worried about staying here after all negative feedback hotel has received on trip advisor and was even going to cancel. Glad we didn’t as we had a great time and the other guests around us appeared to be too.

If you want to spend your time looking at grout on tiles in the bathroom or looking at a flat screen TV this place isn’t for you. In terms of extra charges it was 8.00 for secure parking, which I think is great value for money compared to other hotels we’ve stayed in. 20.00 for One Spa but this was worth every penny for non guests its 65.00.

Stay near by in Fife but have never stayed at the Sheraton. Wanted to go to One spa so decided to stay at the hotel as well. Was a tad dissapointed with the overall look/style of the room. It looked a bit dated and would not consider it a 5 star. Have just stayed at the Lowry in Manchester which is fantastic so had my hopes up.

I have a thing about bathrooms and ours was poor. All been said before but bathroom was 2/3* hotel. Felt a bit grotty and hate the rubbish shower over the bath/shower curtain thing.

In saying that the staff were totally fantastic. All very friendly and could not do enough for you. The spa was first class - would stay again just for the spa. Breakfast was ok, bed very comfortable. Great location and easy parking.

Overall a good hotel, brill spa and staff but rooms a dissapointing for a 5 star hotel.
