“Great view for £4!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2014

Although the staircases are quite narrow and a little claustrophobic, it is worth it to climb to the top as you get a great view of Edinburgh and some good photo opportunities! If you don't like heights or spiral staircases then perhaps stay away!

“£4 Great Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2014 via mobile

After disappointment of quite an expensive underground tour this made up for it. Climb was amusing if not a little tight in places

But the view from the top was well worth the effort

“Great views and enjoyable climb!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2014

Its only £4! we had some great views of Edinburgh and managed to learn some history. There are few other places for free you can get great views such as Calton Hill worth a visit.

“Unforgettable climb”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

The monument is very prominent a sight and offered an excellent view over Edinburgh. The climb itself was unforgettable. At the top the doorway is so narrow I had to enter sideways. Also passing a group of three in the narrow staircase was interesting.. not for claustrophobic. Definitely worth the climb even when the weather was rainy. The water formed some pools on the level floors, be prepared to do giant steps if rainy.

“Great views of the city for those not afraid of heights or small spaces”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2014

With a 4 GBP entry fee this clocks in as an attraction that gives you a lot for very little.

The climb itself is quite an experience - having to squeeze past other visitors in a narrow staircase, but the panoramic views of Edinburgh would soon put any tiredness out of you.
