beautiful monument, dedicated to Sir Walter Scott, a Scottish poet, who wrote a lot about Scotland's history. Well worth the climbing as you get to have amazing views.

“More that 39 steps”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

This is not for the unfit, the faint hearted or if you don't like small places. The view from the top on a clear day is amazing and well worth the trip up there. I went on a week day in the morning so got the best of the light and it was not so busy. It does get a bit tight at the top if their is a few people up there also. An amazing building that is well designed and shows a great mark of Scottish history.

“Better be fit!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

This is a steep set of stairs, but there are resting points on each level. The stairs are quite narrow but after you get to the top wow. The views are lovely and the architecture itsefl of interest. It is such a shame that they are digging up what seems like to be rest of the city, but this attraction is lovely.

“Some great views on Edinburgh.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

I see no reason not to visit the Scott monument. For only £3 you can enjoy the great views the monument has to offer. I do recommend taking pictures on the highest level, since the views get better the higher you climb. Otherwise you'll end up with four equal sets of pictures. On the first level there's a room dedicated to Sir Walter Scott. During autumn and winter be sure to have a scarf and some warm clothes, since there's a really strong wind up there. If you're in Edinburgh, the Scott monument is definitely an attraction you have to visit.
