Wonderful. What a privilege to be able to glimpse what it was like on board. Beautifully kept and alterations to accommodate the public tastefully and unobtrusively done.

Thank you for such lovely comments. They mean a lot to us as we have worked hard as a charitable trust to display Britannia in a manner consistent with her dignity as a former Royal Palace, while creating a world-class experience for our visitors. Many thanks for your wonderful review.

“Awesome Ship”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

Loved this, was nice to see how it is when the Queen was on and to see how the staff are kept. Enjoyed the afternoon tea on the top deck, was reasonably expensive but it is on the Queens former ship!

It really is fascinating to see the contrast between the Royal Apartments and the Crew’s Quarters. The majority of items on board are original to Britannia and kindly on loan from the Royal Collection, so it does feel as if Her Majesty has just stepped off the ship. Many thanks for awarding us with five stars on TripAdvisor.

“Very interesting site!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

A great way to see how the Royal Family lived when they were on holiday. It was remarkably low key in its decoration. Very nice furnishings and interesting insight into the family's life. An audio tour allows you to wander at your leisure. Well worth the time to visit.

Lovely to hear how much you enjoyed the insight into Royal life aboard Britannia. As you say, Britannia was not only an ambassador for Great Britain, but also a much loved Royal residence. The décor has much more of a country home feel rather than anything too lavish. The Queen and Prince Philip had the final say in her interiors and chose not to have anything too ostentatious in the post-war period during which she was designed. Many thanks for your kind review.

“Perfect visit to royal attraction!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

My mum and I planned a visit to Edinburgh and were looking for things to do. We ordered some tesco day out vouchers and noticed this spot was on the list, so we thought we would give it a try. Very impressed with the handsets that you were able to listen to, to get information on each room you were in. Didn't eat there as was not the right time to but you were able to have something to eat on the yacht. We did however decide to purchase some of the homemade fudge which was delicious. Recommended for all ages.

It sounds like you and your mum had a wonderful time aboard Britannia. The audio handset really does bring the tour to life and is great at allowing you take everything at your own pace. Many thanks for visiting and recommending Britannia to others on TripAdvisor.

“Well worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

Great place to visit. Great value for money. Staff very friendly and helpfull. Helps if it is dry as lots to see and do outside. Fantastic experience to see how the Royal family used to travel and holiday. Very interesting and makes you realise they are human beings just like us. Some of the rooms not as grand as you would have expected. ( The bedrooms ).
Fantastic way to spend a few hours.
