The best feature of this hotel is the location as it is 5 minute walk from the train station. If you are traveling on a budget, this probably fits the bill, but even at 79GBP it doesn't offer much. The bed was clean and adequately comfortable and the shower was clean and worked well. The room itself could desperately use better lighting and pictures on the walls. The TV is teh size of my computer monitor. The room just feels like a dim cell. There is a small desk, but no where to put anything. NOTE that the rooms do not even come with a hair dryer, you will need to sign one out at the desk.

The lobby is sketchy and I'm sorry to say the clerk seemed a bit bothered by our checking in. I think she was the only person on duty and was hard to track down. The desk was left unstaffed and we had to page her. We came in by train in the evening and checked out first thing in the morning, so we didn't much care where we had to stay for 1 night. Some reviewers seem to love this place; for us it was last minute so I didn't do any homework, but I think we could have done better.

Room Tip: Do not stay on the -3 level. You are at street level and there is another building blocking any hope...

Upside: The room was good and clean. Comfortable bed/duvet/pillows. Bathroom although very small was well lighted and towels changed. Location very good for Waverley Street Railway Street Station and Princes Street. "Food to go" was available if required..
Downside: Nowhere to place underwear. No drawers or bedside table/shelf. Only one shelf over the hangar rail which was quite high up. Lighting in bedroom was poor, especially for reading. No hairdryer. If have the window open at night it can be noisy, although this can't be avoided as it is by a main street.

the room had secondary glazing which made the room like sauna if you opened it the noise outside was to loud to sleep.the bathroom was to small, on the toilet you are squashed against the wall the shower is too small.the hotel sign is not very clear to see from any distance.

Spotlessly clean, friendly staff, all round a great stay. No cooked breakfast but plenty of options in Edinburgh .

Very well priced and location is great. No Iron in the room, but available at reception

I use this hotel regularly. Staff are always friendly and the rooms are clean. Great for the centre of Edinburgh and only a few minutes walk from Waverley Train Station. There are plenty of restaurants/takeaways nearby for food and drink and an ideal base for sightseeing. For best deals I recommend you book early!

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights and it was lovely. The staff were all very friendly and helpful the entire stay. The room had a good television, really nice bed and a great bathroom. There was fresh tea and coffee every day and the room was kept spotless. The travelodge is situated walking distance from lots of main attractions such as the castle, museums, city centre and lots of great restaurants. I would highly recommend - exceeds expectations.

My room was spacious and spotlessly clean with a very comfortable bed. There was coffee and tea available a nice television and shower gel and soap in the bathroom as well as nice towels. I was able to borrow a hair dryer from reception when I needed one and the staff were very helpful at all time. 30 minutes free Wifi applied.
The hotel is perfect to visit the whole city on foot, it is 5 minutes from Waverley Edinburgh station so great if you are travelling by train.
I would recommend it and certainly use it again

Room Tip: We were on the 3rd floor so no street noise at all very quiet I would recommend this.
