“Comfort and Quality Indian Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2012

A lovely restaurant recently refurbished. The food is of good quality and the service is very good. Unfortunately owing to the Edinburgh Tram fiasco access is very difficult and the window view is a building site. Hopefully in around a years time things can be better. Well worth a visit

“honest restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2012 via mobile

want to go to an indian restaurant that likes to serve "indian" food the way europeans think indian food should be? where "spicy" would mean as much pepper sprouts as one can swallow without spitting fire, but without recognizing all the real spicy herbs that make the sauce?
if so, skip this one.
if, on the contrary, you want to surprise yourself with tastes from another culinary world, pay omar a visit. the odds are you won't regret it.

“Good Food Good Service Good Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2012

Went back here after a break of several years and found the food and the service excellent. The Haymarket area of Edinburgh is really not looking attractive just now with the Tram Works. This is quite a large restaurant which often looks quiet but it deserves to be much busier. The Tandooris are especialy good value and the nans are excellent

“Don't waste your time”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2012

Me and my boyfriend went to this restaurant and it was terrible!
The staff were rude and very unhelpful.
The food was bland and was definitely not worth the money.
I would never go here again.
Theres another Indian restaurant near by, called Karma Sutra, which is much better!

“Fantastic curry house!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2012

This grand curry house was just round the corner from the hotel my and my girlfriend stayed in while on a trip to Edinburgh (Ritz Hotel). I had eyed this place up from the first day I got there and managed to convince my girlfriend on the last night of our trip to go - needless to say, she was not disappointed.

When we were arrived, we were taken immidiately to a table and offered poppadoms and sides. The service was great and our waiter was extremely polite and helpful.

The bhuna I ordered was the best I've ever had.

All together we got poppadoms and dips, two drinks each, a curry each, rice and a naan between us for about £30.
