Stayed here one night and was very impressed.
The location is great - very close to touristy attractions such as Castle, not far from Princes Street and just around the corner from pubs etc of the Grassmarket.
The check in was friendly and efficient although not all the check in desks were staffed and so we had a bit of a wait. The lobby area is somewhat cramped. There are very few seats and these alwasy seemed to be taken.
The rooms are modern, clean, big and well decorated as you might expect. There are plenty of amenities and the nespresso coffee machine is always welcome. There is a free soft drinks minibar. The beds are comfortable and the room despite being on the first floor and our stay being a "rugby weekend" saturday night was very quiet.
The hotel bar was fine with plenty of choice and good service. It did feel though a bit like we were sitting in the area that should have been lobby seating and the bar should have been somewhere else.
Breakfast was lovely with lots of choice and a very tasty cooked breakfast. Those coming close to the end of service however looked like they had quite a wait to get seated as the number of tables is clearly a lot less than the number of hotel rooms. Still the service was impeccable and also friendly.
I'd certainly stay here again though.
