“Stylish”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2012

Good hotel but very pricey. They do throw in a couple of freebies - gym access, soft drinks, movies.

This stylish hotel is right in the middle of the old town has great access to transport links and tourist hot spots.

Rooms are quite bijou but have good views of the city and are clean and colourful.

Would never pay full price for a room a Hotel Missoni (rooms go for around £250 per night), but it's worth a stay if you can get a discount. We managed to get an amazing deal on Travel Republic, half the price for a standard room, making the stay great value for money.

I went to Edinburgh for work, and I couldn't fault this hotel. The rooms are clean, nice and well fitted. There is a huge shower with powerful nozzle, heated bathroom floor. Free movies, 2 free items of laundry, free soft drinks in the mini bar.

The MIssoni is not for those looking for old world elegance as exemplified by the Balmoral Hotel a short distance away. But, if you like modern architecture and Missoni designs you will probably like the Missoni hotel. The entire hotel reflects a consistent design concept from the kilts of the doormen, to the bathrobes, bedroom decor, hall carpets, cucina and bar decorations, china, linens, etc. The room is well designed and had all the expected amenities and some unexpected ones—free mini bar, movies, newspaper, and internet. The breakfast was of high quality. There was a very large selection of breads, rolls, fruit, cold meats, cereals in addition to the excellent hot breakfast. The location on the Royal Mile and a short distance from the Castle is every convenient. And we found the service to be excellent. Just a note, we were told that no room has a view of the castle. Although there did not appear to be a separate concierge, the receptionists at the front desk were knowledgeable and helpful.

One of the best hotels in the country in my opinion my first choice when on holiday or business in Edinburgh, it's only 2 minutes from Waverley train station by foot and right in the heart of all the sites and sounds of Edinburgh (the bus from the airport costs around £3.50 and drops you off at Princess st next to the train station - Taxi is about £15-20). The hotel is is very modern and boutique like and the quality of the decor etc.. is truely first class. The staff (and I mean all of them) are the friendliest that you will find in the UK let alone Edinburgh) The food is superb and excellent value. Would recommend to anyone you will never stay anywher else (except when you can't get a room as it's so popular :o).

Room Tip: Look for late deals on last minute dot com etc.. as rack rate is high

A first class hotel. Had a slight issue with noise from outside whilst in the first room (it was in the older part of the hotel overlooking the Royal Mile) but we were moved into a different room without any fuss. Both rooms were total luxury. Hotel is faultless.

Room Tip: older rooms on the street side can be a bit noisy - no double glazing as building is listed
