“Excellent B&B!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

My husband and I stayed at the Hedges for 3 nights in May during our two week tour of England, Scotland, and Ireland. It was our favorite B&B of the entire trip! The rooms are very clean and spacious, the beds are comfortable, breakfast is delicious with many options and will keep you full for a good part of the day! The Hedges is in close walking distance to the city centre, it's very easy to get around in Edinburgh. Heather is so welcoming and accommodating. She gave us tips for where to eat and which sights to see. We had to leave early to catch a flight our last morning there and Heather even packed us a to-go breakfast and printed our boarding passes for us! She is wonderful! I would highly recommend staying here if you are going to be in Edinburgh.

Stayed at the Hedges Guesthouse in early June. Stayed here with a friend, in Room 3 in the back of the house, set up as a twin. Very quiet and yet only 5 minutes walk into city center. Great breakfast also. Heather, the owner was a most helpful and lovely woman.
I highly recommend this B&B.

The Hedges is a wonderful place to stay. It is perfectly situated, barely 10 minutes walk from Waverley station and close to the city centre. The rooms are beautifully decorated with spacious and emaculate en-suite bathrooms. The choice of breakfast was extensive and delicious. The service was faultless with Heather making you feel right at home. We are just back from staying there for two nights and only wish we were there longer! Will definitely be making a return visit.

A warm welcome by the charming lady of the house was a perfect start to our holiday in Scotland. Heather did everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The B&B is in easy walking distance to the centre and and a lot of sights in Edinburgh.
In the morning a full, rich Scottish breakfast (alternative: yummy fruitplatter or Scottish smoked salmon) was served that also included freshly-made porridge with a choice of honey, cream or whiskey(!).
The room (we had the big one in the front - there are only three altogether) was newly decorated, spotless and very comfortable with a bathroom with modern stone flagging.
We stayed for two nights and this B&B set the standards for every guesthouse/B&B to come during our stay in Scotland!

This was a fantastic base to explore Edinburgh. Heather exemplified Scottish hospitality by providing a beautiful room, comfortable and spotlessly clean, with a modern bath. She was so helpful with our first trip to Edinburgh, a truly amazing city. The breakfast was fabulous and served in lovely setting. We would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying here again.

A haven just a 10 minute walk from the railway station. Lovely room, comfortable bed, fabulous breakfast. Heather, who owns and runs The Hedges, was the perfect hostess! Will definitely return there on my next visit. As an aside, if you are mad enough to run a marathon, it is perfectly located for the start of The Edinburgh Marathon.

Although we came to Edinburgh for business the moment we arrived at The Hedges Guestehouse we felt like home. Heather, the hostess of this lovely B&B greeted us with a big smile and took excellent care of us. The rooms are wonderfully decorated and all have a spacious en-suite bathroom. The breakfast is amazing. I personally loved the fruit platter and the porridge with the special scottish whisky treat ...Thank you to Heather and Ian for their great hospitality. Highly recomended!!!
