“This boozer is one of Edinburgh's finest!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

Tucked away in a basement on the corner of Dublin St and York Place you could easily miss this hidden neighbourhood gem.

Bodos is extremely handy for the Stand Comedy Club, the Playhouse or Edinburgh’s main bus and train stations, and drinks prices are surprisingly reasonable considering the pub’s close proximity to the city centre

I think the main draw though is the welcome you get from the staff here, they’re really great and make you feel like you've been transported to a friendly country pub. . . I would be comfortable going here alone and know I’d be guaranteed to get a good natter.

Shame the tram works are keeping folk away from York Place, lets hope it doesn't affect Lord Bodos.

“Probably one of the best pubs in Edinburgh!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2012

After stumbling across Lord Bodos for the first time three months ago, we can safely say its our number one choice for a great pub in Edinburgh. The staff lead by manager Shona are just a great bunch of lads! Honestly could not fault anything about the pub. Prices are reasonable, great selection of drink and the regulars are amongst the warmest and friendliness in town.
We would highly reccomed Shona's menthe&baileys shot, it goes down a treat :)

No matter how busy we are...there is always time for Bodo's o'clock!

Cheers, Jolene and Iain :P

“On Sunday evenings the regulars dance in this delightful Edinburgh pub!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2012

And well they might, given the great local they have. We've been here a few times now as it is very comfortable and convenient if you are killing time before a gig at the Stand (which is over the road). Reasonably priced drinks, decent crisps (don't know if they do actual food as we've never been there at a time when we were looking for food), friendly staff and clean toilets. Can't really ask for more.

“I will go back before I leave”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2012 via mobile

The pub is in a pretty convenient location. The most remarkable thing was the atmosphere, it was very comfortable and cozy inside...just right for a cold pint of beer. Ladies behind the counter were super friendly and cordial to my American sensitivities. Prices are average, but the vibe inside was enough to make me want to go back.
