Myself and a friend stayed here for one night at the end of August. When we were checking in, we realised we had got the twin room for just over half the price of the standard rate, on lastminute.com. It's in a nice location, right beside the hotel and maybe 5-10 mins walk from Princes St (the main shopping thoroughfare in Edinburgh).
We weren't expecting to be given the nicest room in the hotel because of this, but the guy at reception was very nice and gave us a recently refurbished room with a view of the castle!
Rooms are lovely, quite large and furnished in a modern, minimal style. There was an LCD TV on the wall which actually had a very good selection of digital channels, which isn't always the case in hotels. There was wifi in the room (although it is charged for, but free in the lobby), a hairdryer and tea/coffee facilities. Unfortunately there was no mini-bar.
The beds were very comfortable and extremely clean, with lots of pillows and a cushion, and expensive looking bedclothes.
Bathroom was great, a shower with great water pressure, and lovely soft towels and nice shower gels, soaps and moisturisers.
We didn't eat at the hotel as we had an early start, but checking out was quick and pleasant.
All in all, I would definitely stay at the point hotel again.
