Myself and partner stayed 4 nights at this beautiful family run guest house between 8 and 12 September. Immaculately presented both inside and out . Our room was flawless, exceptionally clean with impressive furniture, original features and elegant decor. Nothing was missed and luxuries included a flat screen TV and Molton Brown toiletries. It was wonderful to hear the joy and laughter that Ross and his Mum filled the house with on a daily basis, a very genuine and attentive family who show a real interest in their guests.
Breakfast was a real highlight with a huge array of choice served in a relaxing, confortable breakfast room with prompt, friendly, attentive service.
The Guest House is ideally situated just out of town so that the noise of the City can easily be left behind. Walking is a perfect option or it is very easy to jump on a bus into the bustling City as there is a bus stop just accross the road and the buses are so efficient, there seems to be always one waiting!
So much to do and see here!! We will most certainly be returning and I would not consider staying anywhere else now that we have been spoilt by Ross and Kathleen. I would recommend this lovely Guest House in a superb location to anyone who wants to have a really good time and be treated like Kings and Queens!!

My husband and I together with my parents, son and nephew visited Edinburgh from 4th September to 7th September mainly to attend the Open Day at Edinburgh University.
23 Mayfield has to be the best B & B I have ever stayed at. The rooms are well furnished, flat screen television together with extremely nice shower gels and hand creams.

Ross was a great host, the breakfast menu is very extensive. Food excellent.
The Breakfast Room is beautiful with classical background music which all adds to the ambience.
All in All a wonderful place to stay and we will definitely be paying another visit particularly if our son attends the Uni.

This place is perfectly located if you come by car. The breakfast is exellent and the young owners are very nice people ,you really feel welcome.We had a lovely 4 poster bed. Several buses take you to the city center in 5 minutes just across the street.

My wife and I have just returned from 10 days in Scotland. The highlight of our trip was staying in Edinburgh for 4 days at 23 Mayfield.

The Accommodation is a beautifully restored very large elegant home and it provided parking. It was close enough to the middle of the city to get access easily but away from noise.

Room was great, very spacious and had the extra touches like luxury Molton Brown lotions and soaps, wide-screen TV and finishes that represent a stylish Edinburgh. Real attention to detail.

Breakfast was really nice every morning. Served and cooked by the owner Ross.The real highlight was the service, Ross is a great guy, he went the extra mile for us.

We look forward to returning to 23 Mayfield again one day.
