Our first trip to Scotland and this accommodation was perfect! Warm, comfortable, clean, contemporary atmosphere. The breakfast and coffee was excellent. We were in close walking distance to Princess Street and many wonderful restaurants and shopping. We were so pleased and enjoyed our stay at this bed and breakfast hosted by the incredible Ramsay family.

Sharon was a gracious hostess and made us feel right at home. She took the time to make us comfortable by giving us directions and recommendations for dinner as well as a place to take a great run! Ramsays was the nicest B&B we have ever stayed in with impeccable cleanliness and great privacy. The breakfasts were great, very traditional and cooked to order. We would definitely stay here again! The location was great, within walking distance of everything in Edinburgh.

Ramsay’s B&B is within walking distance of virtually everywhere in central Edinburgh and was ideal for me as a tourist visiting friends for the weekend. It felt really friendly, with every care taken to ensure my stay was comfortable. My room was a generous double overlooking the newly landscaped rear garden and had a comfortable bed and immaculate en-suite shower. It’s obvious that quite a lot of money has been spent on refurbishing Ramsay’s, and as a result it was modern, clean and fresh. Couple this with friendly owners who take a genuine interest in their business and you have a combination sadly lacking from so many places I stay. I couldn’t fault it and will definitely return.

  • Liked — Very clean and modern.
  • Disliked — If staying for more than a few days I would have needed more wardrobe space.

We stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning of May during a week long trip to Loch Lomond, St Andrews & Edinburgh.
Sharon & her family are lovely, excellent hosts & a mine of information for buses, restaurants, parking & anything else you need to know.
Our double room was spotlessly clean & very modern.
Breakfast was served in the lovely dining room overlooking the street, lots of choice & hot breakfast cooked to order.
There are a number of restaurants & pubs nearby in the Broughton St area, or it's 10 minutes walk to Princes St (uphill there but a welcoming downhill on the way back).
This is a well priced, friendly B&B in a good location, highly recommended, we will definitely return.

I stayed at Ramsay's in mid-April this year with my girlfriend, and we both absolutely adored it. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Sharon was very apt to give us information about sight-seeing, places to eat and important areas to visit in Edinburgh.

The room was really spacious, clean, and incredibly well-furnished. In relation to the rest of Edinburgh, Ramsay's is a pretty short walk to the high street, and near to many interesting pubs and restaurants. You won't need to go to any of these for breakfast however, as the breakfast served at Ramsay's is entirely filling, delicious and the best traditional Scottish breakfast that I had in Scotland during my visit there.

Moreover, for all the amenities that it offers, Ramsay's is phenomenally well-priced. This is the best value for my money that I have had traveling not just in Scotland, but in the entire UK.

For anyone travelling to Scotland I would place Ramsay's B&B at the top of my recommendations.
