I love this park and have used it for years. Great free thing to do with good walks and things for the kids!

“Beautiful”

My maiden name is Boyd, so of course I wanted to tour Dean Castle. Extremely disappointed in was closed for repairs. Did tour the grounds and had a lovely day with my children.

“Excellent Castle and Country Park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

The Dean Castle and Country Park is an excellent day out. There are many routes through the Country Park and a map can be collected at the Visitor Centre. It would be helpful if there were far more marker posts on the various path routes. The guided tour of Dean Castle was very informative and "brought the castle to life". Excellent free day out. The on-site cafe at the Visitor's Centre provided tasty baked potatoes.

“The Dean country park and casle”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

This is in my home town and I spent several hours here today doing what I love ....taking photographs and exploring all the fine attributes that this destination has. There is free access to the castle and it boasts a fine selecion of arms and armour all beautifully laid out .It also hosts a fine collection of mediaeval musical instruments. There are numerous walks throughout the park, eating areas for picnics, aselection of animals eg Llamas, pigs fallow deer, sheep and some birds. There are play areas for kids and a tearoom. This is a marvellous day out for kids and adults alike and best of all it is free entry and there is plenty of parking also free so if you are wondering what to do when you are in this area do not miss this attraction it is well worth the effort.

“A Great Place to Visit - When the Sun's Out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2013

This is a great park to visit in the north end of Kilmarnock. The castle has loads of history and you can get a tour where you'll get to learn lots about the history of the area and handle some swords and armour.
There is an adventure playground which the kids loved and a nature trail which is worth a hour or so walking along.
If the weathers turns, as it did with us, its only a 5 minute walk to Jungle Madness Soft Play which is just up the road.
