Been eating here on a regular basis since the quality and presentation of the food coming from the kitchen improved dramatically. Stopped in for lunch a couple of days ago and from start to finish the experience was excellent. The welcome, as it has always been, was friendly and helpful and the quality, menu selection and presentation of the food exceeds expectations.
The menu caters for everyone from the staple pub style steak pie to something for those who are looking for a more restaurant style dish. I selected the fresh soup of the day which was delicious, piping hot and served with a crusty roll and butter. This was followed by, a beautifully presented and equally delicious, crusted Haddock with crushed potatoes and Chorizo. This was from the 'two courses for £9.95' menu and offered amazing value for money. Others had the equally tasty Tomato and Sweet Chilli soup followed by Macaroni served with fries and a fresh dressed salad. The presentation is contemporary and everything we have tried up until now has been delicious. Looking forward to returning soon. Would agree with others that the decor could do with being brought into the 21st century but don't let this put you off as the food and the staff make up for this.
