“Great bit of luxury for a short break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2011 via mobile

Myself and my wife (36 & 29) stayed for a 4 night break mid July (£349-booked in advance). We stayed at the Muirloch Executive Lodge (16) and would say it was amazing!

The lodges are all very nice, well the executive ones anyway, I can't speak of the basic ones.

Our lodge was fantastic, totally secluded, no noise whatsoever, could hardly see another lodge through the forest, bliss. The lodge is more that you could imagine and better for the price paid. Small freezer the only let down if you were planning on staying longer.

TV reception blips a little but it's a forest lodge. No phone reception, but it's a forest lodge. No Wifi, you know where I'm going with this. You're on holiday, so relax.

The sauna is an added bonus but rarely used to be honest, but great for drying clothes from the hot tub.

The hot tub is great. First thing in morning and last thing at night, but be warned once you are in it, you forget time and you can be in way past bed time...oh that's right, you're on holiday, so relax.

The area is close to Dundee and small towns if you need anything.

No walks though which was a let down, but as I said things are close to drive to.

On arrival you will 'have' to pay a security deposit, debit card, money taken and refunded a week after you leave, credit card, just swiped but not taken unless damage is found.

Please please please leave the lodge as you found it. We got a look in the Vegas executive (sleeps 12) before we left and last occupants had left bacon, sausages, dirty plates etc...clearly total idiots.

Great time had by the both of us and will return, preferably to lodge 16 again.

Just back from a 3 night stay at the beautiful Piperdam estate! Stayed in Muirloch Executive Lodge, what a wonderful place, lodge was out of this world, immacutely clean, beautiful well thought decor, spacious and cosy at the same time, best bed I have ever slept in which was enourmous super king size! Surroundings were beautiful! Loved sitting in the hot tub watching all the birds!!! We never ate in the restaraunt but sat each nite at the bar and all the food smelled lovely, surrounding area is stunning, didnt want to come home!!! Definately be back! Thanks Piperdam

Arrived thought ok , looked closer , cobwebs everywhere , broken tile kitchen floor cut my foot .. No writing on the oven so didn't know if it was oven grill or Hob , very dangerous !!! Carpet was mucky as was sink as was shower tray I mean filthy but the best bit was the mop how you clean with a mop that's the colour black is beyond me , you would have to wipe your feet cuming out .
When I complained about this and produced photos they said the mop smelled clean and dint see anything wrong with the other stuff , the excuse was we're in the woods how are you not to get cobwebs , trust me they'd been there for a while ... 5 star my foot !!!

We are just back from Piperdam after a 5 day break. The lodge was fantastic, clean comfortable and very modern. Although the next time we stay I will get a lodge with a hot tub.
There was plenty for my little nephew to do and the staff are excellant with the children very patient and caring.
We used the swimming pool and it was clean and warm.
The bar food was outstanding and good value for money. Again the staff couldnt have been more helpful.
Its a really beautiful place with lots of ducks and rabbits around the lodges and the childrens play park which was lovely to see. It was nice to appreciate having a holiday in Scotland!!

This is my second visit to Piperdam and what a wonderful place to rest, relax and recoup. Loved every minute of it. Not only was the weather superb for us but the lodge was amazing. We stayed in a Rainbow executive lodge and when we walked into it we felt like we'd walked into a show lodge. The Sauna and Hot tub were fantastic. Perfect place to go with friends and family. While some go off to play golf the others can relax at the Resorts swimming pool or chill at the lodge.
The golf course is superb and the views are not to be missed, if you can, take advantage of the Quad biking from the very top of the hills the views out and over to Dundee and Fife are priceless.
Just to cover the food, it is second to none, whether you sit in the restaurant with amazing views overlooking the loch or in the well presented and relaxed bar area, the service and food is fantastic. (personally i recommend the parrot bay coconut shrimp)
Thanks Piperdam, you certainly let the body recoup and relax. I'm a definate for heading back next year with more friends and family.

The restaurant was exquisite in both an atmosphere and culinary sense. Our plates were clean every night! The staff were extremely friendly all the way from Mr Kopacz to the young barman Kyle. The service was terrific and as we became such regulars during our stay, Kyle without hesitation gave us some cheap drinks and one or two free on the last night our stay, which was a lovely touch. I would reccomend piperdam to any friends or family!
