If you are looking for a no frills two star option for the night, then the Fisherman's is very acceptable. I stayed there the other night in the context of a get together of several friends from Dundee (many still there, others like myself now living elsewhere). The Fisherman's pub is excellent, great beers, good friendly atmosphere. Broughty Ferry is a great wee place with a number of good pubs and some decent eating options. The rooms are a good staggering distance (i.e. next door and up the stairs) from the pub.
There were some negatives - (clearly due to an oversight) our room hadn't been serviced, which we discovered as soon as we went in the door - but this was quickly rectified and we were given a free pint each as compensation. Breakfast on a Saturday ends at 8.45 a.m., which I thought somewhat early (given that I missed it), and the check out is 10.15 am (again on the sharp side). All in all though, a good value, friendly place - £64 B&B for a twin room.
