If three dots is three-star then that's about right but I've given it 4 because we only paid £26 per room (excellent value then). Everything you would expect from the standard travelodge room - except a bit bigger on this occasion. As others have said, the place is a converted warehouse so the rooms are large and very tall - they have lowered the ceilings by about a metre to make them feel less like a prison cell (bit unfair but you still get a slight echo). Loads of room for your things though.
Good location in the middle of Dundee. Some have said they had trouble as there is no cafe - go to the Weatherspoons 200 metres down the road opposite (the one with the shell station next to it). It serves food from 9am to 11pm and has great beers. Some Weatherspoons are big drinking pubs but this has a good feel and you could get a 3 course meal for £7.50 - it's nice food as well and yes you can get Haggis there (and other scottish foods).
If you have two cars, don't take the best one. The hotel car park is at the back and whilst well lit and we didn't see any damage, it is accessed 24 hours (I think) from a rather unappealing backstreet. There is also a covered walkway that forms the entrance to both the hotel and a business next door and you can cut through from the main road to the backstreet through the car park - handy, but also handy for the drunks from the nightclub opposite. Our room was at the back so we heard them a bit at 2am. The constant squarking from the seaguls was also annoying (we live in Blackpool and ours don't do that at all hours). Flocking noisy birds as I said at 4 in the morning (I do love spellcheck).
