“It's fine but surrounding area dead”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 days ago NEW

Couple of nights here. Building is a bit dingy externally but absolutely fine inside. Large car park but I'd recommend parking near the reception, (next to the disabled spaces), or under the CCTV. When I first arrived I stuck the car next to the wall close to the road and realised that there was broken glass around -not a good sign and so I shifted it closer to the reception.

There's a pub, decent takeaway and Tesco Express + ATM 15mins walk away. Left out of the hotel, right at the roundabout on Strathmartine Road. You can walk downhill into Dundee centre but it's about 30mins brisk walk.

Staff were good, honourable mention for the friendly young women who got me a light for a cig one evening.

Stayed at this Travelodge in Dundee on a Sunday night to attend a family funeral.
Staff friendly and helpful. The room was what I expected for the £32 I paid: basic but clean, tidy and everything was in working order.
The room could have benefitted from a larger radiator ((small and situated under the desk).
The bathroom also needed some form of heating. I found it too cold to take a shower.
However, the room was fine for my one night stay.
I must mention the bed. It was AMAZING! I was apprehensive about booking a Travelodge as in past stays, the beds were uncomfortable. But this one was brilliant. I had the best nights sleep EVER! Totally recommend using Travelodge if only for the beds!
Overall, a very pleasant stay.

Stayed here for a couple nights to catch up with friends.
Price was very good and we knew what to expect.
Room- very spacious but storage is non existent. Some drawers or a few shelves on the wall for storage would be brilliant as it's not really practical to live out your bag if you are staying a few nights.
We had a family room. Two tvs in the room facing the beds.
Beds were comfy but there was plenty space to add in more than one bucket chair.
Bathroom was clean. No issues.
Didn't encounter any noise and the room was nice and warm.
Food-not expecting Gordon Ramsay but the service in cafe bar was very slow and the food was generic frozen quality. Very poor quality. Over an hours wait each night which bemused me as cafe was empty.
Breakfast was bit sparse and items were refilled with typical slowness.
There's a bar which was a nice touch. Prices seemed reasonable and there was a tv to watch.
Staff were excellent and with a few minor improvements this would be great.
Location is slightly out of town but that suited us.
With a few simple improvements-would be great.

Very comfortable hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Great value for money, room only cost us £26. Tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. We had our tea there, chicken burgers nothing special but filled a hole, bit pricy for what we had and they had no coleslaw even though it was on the menu as being served with the burger. Breakfast was served between 7 and 10, all you can eat for £7.65, scrambled egg, sausage, bacon, tomato and beans or cereal tea and coffee. All on all we would defiantly recommend this travelodge and if ever we are back in Dundee will certainly look to book again.

Gave Travelodge a try as it was cheaper and the advertising on TV made it look good. It did not disappoint at all. Lovely staff. Every one off them delightful. Fab bed, great breakfast and nice little bar area. My only bug bear is the inconsiderate folk that just let their sprung loaded room doors bang shut, Folk coming in at 2am loudly talking and going from room to room banging the doors, Happens everywhere you go but irritates me immensely.
Booked another stay for two weeks time and will be a regular costomer. Thanks all.

Very comfortable stay at this hotel its convenient to where my grandchildren live so when i travel up I always tend to stay here and have never been disappointed, The staff are all friendly and the rooms are clean and tidy and the beds are comfortable and i would recommend this hotel to anyone. The Breakfast is very good and they serve food 24hrs a day even though the choice is limited its great that you can get something when you want. You get free Wifi for 30 mins per person but it is not expensive at £3.00 per 24 hrs in your room or free in the lounge/Bar.The bar is well stocked and has a good choice of beers and wines.
The location is more appropriate to people with cars as its a fair way to the town centre but a good bus service helps and by staying here its much cheaper than staying in the travelodges in the city centre which are quite overpriced for what they are. There are a number of restaurants nearby which are very good and some are two for one on all meals like Weavers Mill which is just off the Kingsway approx 5mins away by car, Also Camperdown park is close by also which is beautiful especially in the summer. There are several supermarkets near by and also a large retail park within 5 mins so great location for picking up some goodies.
