Gave Travelodge a try as it was cheaper and the advertising on TV made it look good. It did not disappoint at all. Lovely staff. Every one off them delightful. Fab bed, great breakfast and nice little bar area. My only bug bear is the inconsiderate folk that just let their sprung loaded room doors bang shut, Folk coming in at 2am loudly talking and going from room to room banging the doors, Happens everywhere you go but irritates me immensely.
Booked another stay for two weeks time and will be a regular costomer. Thanks all.

Very comfortable stay at this hotel its convenient to where my grandchildren live so when i travel up I always tend to stay here and have never been disappointed, The staff are all friendly and the rooms are clean and tidy and the beds are comfortable and i would recommend this hotel to anyone. The Breakfast is very good and they serve food 24hrs a day even though the choice is limited its great that you can get something when you want. You get free Wifi for 30 mins per person but it is not expensive at £3.00 per 24 hrs in your room or free in the lounge/Bar.The bar is well stocked and has a good choice of beers and wines.
The location is more appropriate to people with cars as its a fair way to the town centre but a good bus service helps and by staying here its much cheaper than staying in the travelodges in the city centre which are quite overpriced for what they are. There are a number of restaurants nearby which are very good and some are two for one on all meals like Weavers Mill which is just off the Kingsway approx 5mins away by car, Also Camperdown park is close by also which is beautiful especially in the summer. There are several supermarkets near by and also a large retail park within 5 mins so great location for picking up some goodies.

I needed help with a particular problem and once Shelly - the manageress - had the situation explained to her, couldn't do enough to assist with a bit of humour as well. It made an awkward situation much easier.
Thank you Shelly.
The hotel's a bit out of town, (15 minutes) , but there's a very good bus service that passes the door and the quiet area makes it worth the minor inconvenience.
Others comments regarding the lack of furniture are, sadly true, but this is now the style of all refurbished rooms throughout the estate. Dundee's no worse than any other refurbed Lodge.

Charliedel.

Overnight stop. The place has been recently redecorated/upgraded. Convenient cafe/bar on site and free parking. Nice friendly staff. Rooms clean and bed was excellent. Could have more TV channels available but I was very impressed overall. Much improved from previous experience at other travelodge sites.

The accommodation side of this establishment was fine by me. Warm and comfortable. For some, the distance from City Centre may be an issue, but one of the reasons I choose it. It is near enough, but distances and much more peaceful.
My issue was with the catering side and a lack of realistic selection. The mainmeals are all chill and ping, and therefore the lack of a Vegetarian Breakfast Option was the big downer and marks off an otherwise very acceptable establishment

2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2014

Stayed for two nights last week with my husband. Found hotel ok although not in the most handy location for city centre. The receptionist was very obliging and helpful in providing local information and a map. We felt that our room, although clean and well maintained, was furnished overly sparsely. Apart from the bed, which was fine, there was just a large area of empty floorspace with only one tub-style (uncomfortable) chair and a very small desk/counter area. The built-in bedside shelves we found too small to be useful. We had to place most of our clothes, handbags, toiletries, everything on the floor at night although there was a luggage/ wardrobe storage area just inside the door. In addition, the sound insulation between the rooms was extremely inadequate, as we could clearly hear 'bathroom sounds' from the neighbouring room! We expected - and don't mind 'basic' - but felt this was a bit too basic.
We have stayed at other Travelodges which have been more comfortable and had better facilities in the rooms and felt that Travelodge may have concentrated on upgrading its bar and restaurant in this hotel at the expense of the rooms - maybe to encourage guests to spend money in those areas?
However the whole experience was aggravated by several extremely noisy and aggressive-sounding guests who, on our second night, shouted, screamed and swore at the top of their voices and banged doors in the early hours of the morning. This went on for some time before somebody eventually came and told them to be quiet - about 3.20am. This was rather more than high spirits and young people having fun - we've all been there! This was really quite intimidating! I appreciate this is not Travelodge's 'fault' but it did not make for a very positive experience. And there was no opportunity to speak to the receptionist about it when we were checking out the next morning as she was busy dealing with other guests.
So I'm afraid we did not really enjoy our stay.
