If you are thinking of booking this hotel on a website that describes it as "a mile from the city centre" or "a mile from the Caird Hall", then be aware that you are being misinformed. The hotel is on the outskirts of the city and is 2.7 miles from Caird Hall in the city centre and 2.5 miles drive to the Discovery. (This is according to the RAC routeplanner.)
If the website description talks about an "innovative dinner menu", be prepared for a very basic and uninteresting menu that would shame most pub chains.
And when the website promises breakfast included, be prepared for an argument with the receptionist when you arrive, because the hotel charges extra for breakfast and doesn't seem to be aware that other websites (such as Last Minute) describe the hotel as "inclusive" or offering B/B.
Finally, this hotel provided me with my worst experience ever when, as we opened the door to our room, we saw someone lying sleeping on the bed at 5pm on a Saturday. We went back to Reception, handed back our keycard and left. We would never consider going to a Days Inn hotel in our lives again after this.
