“Lunchtime value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

My wife and I enjoyed a two course lunch at the Tasting rooms for the princely sum for £6.95. Both starter and main course were very tasty and of good quality, staff were most pleasant and nothing seemed to be any bother. Comments from previous diners one has to agree in regards to service being a little slow, but then again we were in no hurry, we did have the table by the toilets, but this was not so much a problem, but have to agree that the drinks were a little pricey. However taking into account the quality of the food, service and the price we paid, we both felt this represented excellent value for money for a lunch time on a Saturday.

“Lovely Place to unwind”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

This is a lovely restaurant come wine bar, Enjoy my time at this place, the staff were friendly and very efficient (Have a laugh and a joke with a few of them). The owner was there on the night with the manageress and things seem to run smooth.

“not likely to go back”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

Not too impressed by this place. Overpriced. Seafood paella which contained chorizo with no indication on the menu that this dish contained meat.

Also when asked to move from table beside toilet, waitress seemed surprised.

Staff polite but we were disappointed that they did not offer some kind of discount in view of the unexpected meat. They all seemed to be in their twenties. Maybe if there had been an older possibly more experienced staff member, they would have had a better idea of how to respond.

We did not leave a tip, as we felt something was lacking on this occasion.

“Poor first impression”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

Having enquired if a table for two was available we were offered a table near the entrance to the toilets. When I asked if we could move the waitress checked with the person in charge and then offered us another table in a different area. This was appreciated. However the vibes we were picking up from the first waitress were not.

We chose two courses from the pre theatre menu. We both ordered a seafood paella thinking that it would just be seafood but it came with small chunks of meat in it which didn't meet with our approval. A shame because had it just been seafood as described in the menu - it would've been lovely.

The sweet however was delicious. The sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream was divine so to was the trio of ice creams.

Overall it was a disappointing experience for us. One of the waitresses was very apologetic. The male waiter was very polite. The first waitress put us off a wee bit.

For what we had we felt it was fairly expensive. Would be reluctant to go again.

“Pre-Theatre menu”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

Visited this establishment for the first time last Wednesday using a voucher we received as a Xmas present. Were welcomed by a young lady and shown up stairs to our tabel, For a three course meal, including a very palatable bottle of Rose, the prices were very good , as was the food. Service was a wee bit slow but then we had arrived early and they don't really start until 5pm. This menu is available between 5 and 6:30 - choices were more than adequate and very well presented on the plate. Would certainly give them another try.
