“Always lovely”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW via mobile

Writing for a stay, a while ago. Stayed here several times, just short trips with family. The price for the rooms were extremely reasonable. The breakfast (which was the only meal we had here) was excellent and the staff were always lovely. The rooms were nice and probably one of the best hotels I've stayed in. The gardens were beautiful, luckily stayed when it was sunny so got to sit outside reading, as well as finding a path at the bottom of the gardens that lead along the canal, towards houses and shops. Honestly can't fault the place.

Booked this property as it was a good price in the current Hilton sale. I have stayed here once before and had a couple of disappointments and they are still an issue.
Firstly as a HHonors Diamond member this is the only Hilton Family hotel i have stayed in that does not give out a VIP welcome drink voucher at check-in. Spoke to the lady on reception who said "it's not something we do".
The previous stay breakfast was not very good and this morning's one had not improved. Recent Doubletree breakfasts at Newcastle and Dunblane were excellent!
The positive's about the hotel were the friendly staff and King Deluxe rooms which i thought were very nice. The Sofa Bed was made up for the kids when we arrived. The small leisure pool is good with a Steam Room, Sauna and Gym.

Recently visited here with my family for 4 nights, and enjoyed our break in Fife as a result. The hotel is easy to find and central to most visitor attractions in the area.
I am a hilton diamond member, and as a result do enjoy the many benefits it brings on my travels whilst on business and holidays both in the UK and worldwide. However, there were a few little niggles we experienced during our stay, which spoilt it somewhat....!
I have to say that all the staff we encountered were most pleasant and very helpful, particularly at breakfast and in the bar area.
The reception were very pleasant too, however, a distinct lack of training in how to deal with customer requests correctly and appropriately was more than evident, and not to offer the diamond benefits by simply stating " we dont do that here"! Is simply not good enough and unfortunately tarnished the holiday from the word go......! I did stand my ground and some relaxation in attitude did follow....!
The housekeeping was very spasmodic, and my wife was unhappy with the lack of coffee cups one day, toilet rolls another, and the absence of any evidence of hoovering in the bedroom and general tidying in the bathroom of used toiletries etc. Not good in my book, but because the hotel exudes a relaxed feeling, which is a good thing, there seems to be an acceptance of the same to the general running of the hotel.....! This is and should not be the case, any establishment will only impress totally if the professionalism is 100% adhered to...!
I would stay here again, despite my observances above, and feel with just a little more attention to detail the hotel could only benefit in the long term.

Easy to find, good parking, easy check in with warm cookies, comfy room and lovely tasty breakfast.
Only negative was it felt like a bit of a maze to get to our room and the striped carpet didn't help the eyes!Breakfast room needs the ceiling sorted so it doesn't leak when raining. Would come again

Stayed for 2 nights at this hotel. Room was excellent, Bar was good, did not use restaurant. Only a very short taxi ride (£9) to city centre. Fitness and Pool excellent. Lovely gardens surrounding the hotel.

Myself and my other half stayed here for one night in May along with a few more couples/people as we were all attending a wedding in the area.
The rooms are lovely with big beds and the bath was awesome! Staff were friendly and attentive and the cookie on arrival was AMAZING!
We had some food in the bar which was lovely and after the wedding when we all got back to the hotel and had forgot to order out breakfast to the room. The night staff were nice enough to say if we did it straight away they would do an extra check around and collect them for us.
Cannot fault anything and will definately stay here again.

we arrived at the hotel( pre birthday treat before our baby arrives) and checked in to our king room and were greeted by a damp smell in the room. we then noticed the carpet was soaking wet. I am 8 months pregnant and couldn't stand the smell. asked reception to change rooms, fine no problem.didnt get an apology tho. so we were moved next door. this room was fine, if a little smal for a king rooml. lovely big bathroom.

had a good nights sleep although you here everything in the hotel from doors closing, to showers, to toilets flushing. its not very soundproof.

breakfast was disgusting. the hot buffet-half of it looked like it wasn't cooked properly. didn't appreciate the waitress eyeing my tummy up and down when she seated us and everytime I stood up. very rude.wasnt taking any chances with the food.

we were then keen to just leave. when we checked out the receptionist asked if we enjoyed our stay and we replied it wasOK. She asked why and we explained about the room and breakfast. all we got in return was a vacant 'I couldn't care less' look and and half hearted sorry about that. no offer to refund breakfast or anything.

wont be back but ok for a decent sleep and bubble bath...expensive one at that tho
