We decided at the last minute to visit our daughter in Dundee and noticed in the newspaper that the Hilton group were offering 2 nights b&b plus 1 evening meal for £128 for 2, a very good deal.

Check in was a very pleasant experience as was our stay. The room was clean and well maintained the beds were very comfortable and the pillows of good quality unlike the cheap ones used by the Travel lodge.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and seemed to enjoy their job. Dinner on the first night was OK but nothing special, we were joined by our daughter and she ordered of the same menu. I don't mind paying a bit more for something special but as I said the meal was just OK and for what you got was over priced and this was the problem with the Hilton everything was over priced, on demand movies, the PlayStation, alcohol you name it, everything was extortionately priced.

The included breakfast was fantastic and had a selection to long to list, looking out over the Tay in the morning while having breakfast was very relaxing. £128 was a bargain but if we had to pay for breakfast or dinner we would have chosen one of Dundee's many fine restaurants to eat in.

I would stay in the Hilton again if I got the same deal but if not would have a problem paying such prices for mediocre food.

“Not very exciting, but does the job”

I stayed here for two nights while up for a wedding. Its not a very pretty spot in the car park from the casino and next to the leisure centre. The other side is pretty though, a nice view of the bridge and the river. We ate dinner in the hotel and the food was OK although the service was very slow, which considering we had some tired small people waiting for the ice-cream they'd been promised was a shame. Its just over the road from the train station and a short walk into town. Room was clean and a good size.

Despite its appearance from the outside, the Hilton Dundee is a superb Hotel set at the banks of the Tay, 5 mins walk from the rail station.

Check in fast and friendly, my room was on the 4th floor facing the River, refurbished to a typical Hilton high standard, with ensuite, remote TV, writing desk, coffee & tea....and very quiet.

Breakfast on the ground floor was very professional, and in a pleasant environment, overlooking the River. Food choices excellent and plentiful.

The City is around 8 or 9 mins walk, and worth a look.

Thoroughly recommended Hotel.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a Globus tour. The staff were very friendly and the facilities were cozy and clean. We stayed in room 108 and it was quiet and we had no problems with it. The hotel is in a good location and we enjoyed our breakfast the next morning.

“A lovely, relaxing break with frendly staff”

I stayed at this hotel with my Mum in February earlier this year. We booked a special winter break, which cost £130 in total for both of us, staying 2 nights bed and breakfast, with dinner included on the first evening.

We travelled to Dundee by train and walked the short distance across the busy road to the hotel located on the edge of the river Tay. Arriving at the hotel at about 11am we expected not to be able to check in until much later but were pleased to hear our room was ready.

Our room did not have a river view, it looked out onto the car park at the front of the hotel but it was still quite nice looking out over the city of Dundee. The room did not feel like a four star quality room as it had old fashioned decor however, it was clean and spacious.

Guests have unlimited use of the health suite facilities including the swimming pool, sauna, steam room, well equipped gym and
can take part in all the exercise classes that are on throughout the day (aerobics, line dancing, yoga, all different abilities etc.).
Mum and I really enjoyed making use of these facilities and the staff were always incredibly helpful and friendly.

Likewise, all the other staff we met at breakfast, dinner or at reception were all welcoming and extremely friendly. We had dinner in the hotel's restaurant on the first evening, this was included in the price of our stay, all three courses. I had to pay a small supplement (only £4) as I chose to have the fillet steak... which, I have to say was the best cooked and tastiest steak I have ever eaten. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal, the food was well cooked and delicious. Drinks were extra of course and we thought that the wine was quite expensive.

The restaurant enjoys views over the river and it is lovely eating here at breakfast time. There is a large selection of fruit juices, fruit, cereals, bread, rolls, full cooked breakfast etc. all served with tea or coffee.

We had a really enjoyable stay and thoroughly enjoyed making full use of the excellent health suite facilities. It truly made it a wonderful, relaxing experience and we left feeling completely rejuvenated.
