“A proper hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2013

This is the sort of hotel you could safely book your fussy parents into. Good value, lots of parking, great view of the Tay, nice restaurant, plentiful breakfast, professional and polite staff, comfy beds, large bathrooms and all the trouser presses and wake up calls you could possibly want. Your grandparents might prefer a ground floor room, as there's no lift.

Room Tip: I stayed in a standard double room, which was surprisingly large and had everything I needed. The e...

I booked invercarse house for a 2 day business trip and wanted somewhere within easy reach of the main road to Aberdeen ,which it is,about 2-3 mile very easy to locate, nice hotel seems well run/efficient fair walk up the corridors to my room 116 nice room large clean comfortable large wall mounted tv (no dvd as advertised on booking .com) good sized bathroom with shower (water a little slow!) corridor outside my room a little fusty smelling although all the others smelt o/k likewise the room. nice restaurant with pleasant outlook food good and the service very efficient though it was slightly to hot for me initially. breakfast o/k it was a buffet no cooked eggs on display sausage slightly to herby outherwise good. it has a very large car park and a ballroom which holds funvtions although not intrusive and my room was on the ground level facing the car park for the ballroom overall recomended

Room Tip: maybe a room facing away from the ballroom car park if they had a function on

Stayed at this hotel a few weeks ago , turned up after 8 and found an efficient welcome and a larger than average room awaiting me.

The car park was large with lots of spare spaces, if it was raining you would get wet on the walk to reception

Room was well appointed and very clean.

Wifi worked Ok , had a problem with the lights failing after about 10 minutes but I assume the circuit breaker was reset and the lights resumed working , this took less than 5 minutes.

Restaurant service was good and the food was excellent.

Bed was comfortable and I slept very well.

Breakfast continued the good standard both in service and food, the sausages were lovely.

In all I like this hotel and will stay here again on my next visit.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights for a friends' wedding. The first night we went to the restaurant at 9 pm for a late meal and were told the kitchen was closed even tho the literature in our room said 9.30 pm. The server could see we were desperate so said we could dine. Food was actually tasty - salmon and veggies but we felt little rushed so didn't enjoy the meal as we had hoped after a couple of days of travelling from overseas for the wedding. Breakfast which was included in our stay was fantastic! A full range of cereal, fruit, yogurt, baked goods plus all the choices for a hot breakfast as well ...bacon, eggs, beans, sausage etc. Restaurant servers were busy keeping everything topped up and coffee/teas at our table.
The room was fine - it was clean and comfortable, basically what you would expect for this price point for a Best Western. Location of the property was a few miles down the road to a couple of good shopping centres and not far from easy access to the motorway if you are travelling the area.
The venue for the wedding was superb. The large banquet room with the floor to ceiling windows overlooked the River Tay which made a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony, meal and reception. I believe the bride and groom were happy with their choice as the guests all seemed to have a fantastic time celebrating their special day with the help of the hotel event planner and staff.

Room Tip: If you have mobility issues ask for a room on the ground floor as there is no lift and are many hall...

I dine here regularly and it's always good ,especially the function suite ,attended a wedding just last Saturday and it was first class
I booked a colleague into the hotel for three night b+ b we dined in the Redwood restaurant on the first night service was good and food ok
My colleague told me the breakfast was very good and the sausages were great the room was a single room which I checked out with him it was a good room with all amenities and priced better than the budget hotels too
I have also dined in the Redwood with my wife and grandchildren and my wife will not go back as she felt the food was too fancy and expensive for what you get
On Monday night it was very good food and service I must persuade her to try agin
All staff are very pleasant and well trained this is a very nice hotel

Really not happy. Came home at 12.30am to find all doors locked and nobody to let us in. After ringing door bell for ten minutes we resorted to banging on the door. Eventually an old man appeared being extremely rude saying 'all you had to do was ring the door bell'

To be locked out of your hotel is just not on.
