Pleasant Scottish hotel on main street of the lovely town of Moffat.
The choice of hotel was from reviews onTripadvisor, plus reading good food reviews. Also the town is an ideal stop over on the way up to or down from the Highlands, I think the towns hoteliers make good use of the situation.
However as stated before, the warm of the staff in this hotel is perhaps its greatest atribute along with the food. While a little overpriced, it is quality, and again the warmth of the staff makes it a very enjoyable meal. Breakfast was good and plentiful and again the waitress was a gem.
The room was clean(bathroom I will get to shortly), with everything you needed, but alittle on the plain and drab side. My husband found the bed terrible, it didn't seem to bother me though. Finally and certainly a first for me was the unwelcome deposit lurking at the bottom of the toilet, with no phone in the room and a reluctance from both of us to go and find someone, it was left to my husband to tackle the problem, as the cleaner hadn't wanted too! or had hoped it had sailed away! Not what you expect for £80 a night.
Would I stay again ....not sure.
