“Repeat visitor”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2008

We have been visiting Moffat for a number of years now using it as a stop over and a extended break. After having been let down by a B&B we had stayed in on a number of times we decided to use Queensberry House instead.

This is a excellent B&B to stay in. Each time we have stayed (4 times now, soon to be a 5th) we are always given a warm welcome. Upon being shown our room we are provided with a large pot of tea and some biscuits in the main lounge. The first time we visited this B&B was after a horrendous long journey so you can appreciate how great it is to have a brew made for you!!. Whilst the rooms are not huge they are more than adequately sized and are extremely clean and comfortable and well provisioned.

The breakfast is superb, with a choice of cereal and fresh fruit, followed by the all important hot Scottish Breakfast of your choice. with the added delight of toasted homemade bread.

Paul & Denise (the owners) are a lovely couple who really go the extra mile for you, nothing is too much trouble. They have lots of local information, such as good places to eat / drink in Moffat.

Overall, we have not stayed in a better B&B full stop. Well recommended.

My husband and I stayed with Paul and Denise after a recommendation from friends of ours.
We were warmly greeted and enjoyed tea and shortbread while we chatted to Paul and Denise.
Paul has an excellent knowledge of the area and Denise made sure we had everything we needed.
Before we went into town for a meal, we enjoyed a complimentary drink in the lounge. It is only a 5 minute stroll, and with the weather being good, we enjoyed a leisurely walk before eating.
The beds here are so comfy! The room was fully equipped with all you need and the 'piece de resistance' was the wonderful breakfast the following morning. My husband enjoyed his porridge with a wee dram and the berry compote was truly delicious. I couldn't believe my husband managed to finish his full Scottish breakfast and I too ate my way through a delicious plate of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon.
This is a hidden gem and I highly recommend Queensberry House - we have already booked for a longer stay later in the year!
