Outstanding service overwhelming attitude around the place. Excellent customer service from all but one very rude Eastern european chef chap who actually told me where to go when i enquired as to whether room service was available and appeared very aggressive when confronted as to his attitude and i felt very aggrieved. Except for this i enjoyed my stay enormously even though the place smells like rabbie burns actually died there and was left under floor of dining room during warm weather. FANTASTIC HOLIDAY

Had a great four day break at the Murray Arms hotel, the food was exellent as was the service, the staff were very pleasant and helpful .
The rooms were clean and tidy albeit a tad dated but that added to the atmosphere of the place.
It was our second visit there and our third will be in Sept this year.

This hotel was very overpriced although the food was good-rooms need refurbished -manager was totally unapproachable when we complained about dirty sheets-definately would not go again

I was very concerned to read this review as i personally have not spoken to anybody about the cleanliness of their rooms in the last 6 to 8 months and neither has my assistant manager. We have been steadily improving the service and food and receiving better and better comments since we took over the Hotel in November 2005.

went to this hotel for sunday lunch after reading latesr review,i am afraid i cannot agree that its a true taste of scotland, set menu was a very reasonably priced.food was well presented but what i would discribe as superior pub standard. staff where competent.the hotel is very dated and tired in appearence.could do with a decorative make over.

on arrival we were met by the most friendly of staff, they were very helpful with a very good attitude. That evening we went for dinner in the restaraunt [a choice of two] i can only say the food was excellent with a good choice, the service was faultless all the staff smile and speak in a very friendly manner.
The room was clean and comfortable althought the decor was a little dated. The exterior of the hotel looked a little shabby but just goes to show never judge a book by its cover. I would definately return to this hotel.
