Absolutely loved it!What can we say, really comfortable, warm & clean, breakfast was spot on.Derek and Suzy made us very welcome, very helpful. The lodge was only 5 minutes walk from the town center which was handy. The other guests were good fun at breakfast even when i didn't make it one morning! Will be back for the next weekender SS3 if not before so Derek or Suzy when you read this could we have the same room please!
Fantastic

We stayed at Torbay Lodge for two nights during October and found it to be very well managed and friendly. Our room was quite spacious and comfortable, and had a good view of the church across the road. Derek was very helpful with his local knowledge, recommending local restaurants and places for us to visit. One of the best B&Bs we have stayed in.

Had a great stay at the Torbay and if I make it to SSW3 I will be booking again.

Derek & Suzy where more than accomodating, room was perfect and beds where super cozy.

Breakfast was superb and just what was needed after a heavy couple of nights at the soul weekender.

Thanks again and I'll be back.

Room Tip: Try get the top fllor, good views and very quiet, apart from the odd noisy magpie

This B&B is near the town centre with private parking. The accommodation is clean and a good size although the on-suite was a cupboard - not unusual in converted Victorian houses. WiFi no problem. View to the rear zero although we were offered an alternative room. Warm room and offers to dry damp clothing welcome. Breakfast was in the mediocre range just down to lack of cereal choice and fresh fruit and the breakfast room being somewhat austere. Room £60 so value for money - would I visit again - maybe! The Trip Advisor ratings somewhat exaggerated reality.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your recent stay at the Torbay Lodge Guest House.

I am pleased you noted the cleanliness, good room size (and warm) , Private Parking and Free fast WIFI - we really do work hard to provide a great bed and breakfast.

I do remember that you called on the day and enquiried if we had any rooms available. You were offered a choice of rooms but opted for the first room shown and told us "this is ideal!". The alternative room did have a larger en-suite and over looks St John's Church . However, I do appreciate that the room you opted for would benefit from a larger en-suite. Your room only had the en-suite fitted a few months before we took over the Torbay Lodge ( so it seemed drastic to remove a new en-suite as it does have full sized shower and facilities) We are also planning to have the en-suite redone during the winter time.

Our breakfasts are something which we are proud of and we offer individually boxed Kellogs' Cornflakes, Fruit & Fibre, Crunchy Nut, Alpen, Weetabix and Special K. We also provide Porridge (which we soak overnight to ensure the perfect consistency) and Rowan Glen Yogurts. For fruit we offer Bananas, Apples and other seasonal fruit. Our toast is either Kingsmill, Hovis or Warburton and butter portions are from the local Lockerbie Creamery.

We only ever use Heinz Beans and local free range eggs plus local sausages and bacon.

I am sorry that your stay was not entirely consistent with the experience that other guests have enjoyed ( we actually received a five star review from a guest with 60 TripAdvisor reviews that stayed the very same night) and I would certainly welcome the opportunity for you try us again sometime in the future.
