“...........and another Premier Inn!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2012

2nd Premier Inn in two days! Travelled from Newcastle to Dumfies and into another Premier Inn. All very good especially the pub which looks brand new! Great service & good pub food, all in a nice part of the world!

This is my second visit in the last year and one of my favorite Premier Inns. Excellent rooms, no lumpy beds, good location, great restaurant and lovely staff. Highly recommend and I will be back time and time again!

Used this Premier Inn forn 5 night break booked on saver rate so great value for money. Accomodation well up to Premier Inn standards. Reception staff were very helpful and friendly and we would rate the accomodation side highly.
Restaurant good for breakfast. Cooked breakfast was made to order and well presented. Dinners were however not recommended. The menu is uninspiring and the food bland and uninteresting. Premier Inn need to raise their game as this complaint is common to a number of their locations.
However if you use the tripadvisor search you will find plenty of good retaurants in town, We used Casa Mia twice and thought it was great.

Stayed at this Premier Inn for 2 nights on the 7/9 Sep 12. This was both mine and my wife's first visit to any Premier and from the moment we arrived until our departure everything from check in, the cleanliness of the room, the comfort of the bed, the fabulous breakfast, the friendly and helpful staff was just excellent and admittedly unexpected. We were attending a wedding at the Friars Carse Country House Hotel which was excellent, the hotel itself was very dated and grubby in areas.

Possibly not quite as fresh and new as the Premier Inns we have stayed in before but still very clean, a very good sized room and excellent value for money. And the usual cheery staff. The Table Table restaurant next door was good for breakfast but we probably wouldn’t go back to eat in the evening again – very slow, wrong orders...

It is a bit of a trek out of town but we used it as a base for visiting some of the 7 Stanes mountain bike facilities so we were driving about anyway.

This is the first time we had stayed at a Premier Inn. First impressions were of a good size car park and a very nice new looking building in a pleasant courtyard style setting.
The room was a really good size. We stayed for 2 nights with young children and we had plenty of space to spread out and walk between the beds. The kids had a proper bed each rather than a foam flop out thing and our bed was nice and roomy.
Everything was spotless, if I was nitpicking I would say that the bathroom grouting could do with a bit of attention but that is all.
Our room was downstairs at the front but was quiet and didn't feel exposed. We ate at the Table Table restaurant which was good value. The children's menu was particularly varied and tasty, even better as kids eat free before 6.30. Mains, drinks and puddings for the 4 of us came in a shade over £30.
We also ate breakfast there on the second morning. Again kids breakfast for free, so a huge cooked belly buster for my husband and an excellent all you can eat cold selection for me and the kids came inat £13 - cheaper than the McDonald's breakfast we had on the first day!
All the staff were really friendly. We will definately stay here again.

We decided to take advantage of the good weather in May for a one-night break to South West Scotland. This is an often-overlooked part of the country and one we had not explored.

We decided to book our one night stay at the Premier Inn, Dumfries, rather than the Travelodge, primarily because the former had an on-site restaurant. Arriving back in the Dumfries area on the A75 from Stranraer, our satnav brought us round the bypass to the postcode destination for the hotel but with no sign of its actual location; ah, the joys of satnavs! After a drive up and down the A75 we finally found the Premier Inn, which is actually close to the Travelodge.

Check-in was effortless and the staff friendly. We were assigned a room on the first floor, facing the car park, which proved not to be noisy. It was a typical Premier Inn room, with king-sized bed, sofa, TV and tea/coffee-making facilities and a bathroom with bath/shower and toilet; we had no issues in relation to the accommodation.

Previous reports on Trip Advisor have given the adjoining restaurant mixed reviews. Being a Sunday evening at 7pm, the place was fairly busy but we were shown quickly to a good table. Mindful of criticisms of food quality here, we played safe by ordering prawn cocktail and fish, dishes we regard as good staples from much experience in Premier Inn restaurants. Food and service was to our expected standard and we had no complaints about our experience.

We breakfasted in the restaurant, where hot items are cooked to order and therefore stand a better chance of arriving hot than if left in heated tureens for self-service. Some items were ‘off’ because of heavy demand over the weekend, which had not been addressed by the time of our Monday morning breakfast. Overall, though, the food and service was satisfactory.

Apart from the bad stock control of food, which should not have happened, we would not hesitate to recommend a stay here.
