“Superb weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2013

10 of us traveled to Galashiels for the first weekend in November for the weekend and were lucky enough to get together at the Monorene guest house.Location is brilliant hop, skip and a jump to everything, rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable.Breakfast was fantastic(we had a couple of good grazer's who were well looked after) and the hosts were friendly, humorous and more than happy to cater for what we wanted.Would highly recommend this place and will definitely stay again.A big thank you to Malcolm and Joan xx

A great breakfast and Malcolm in particular was very friendly. Arrived around 10pm and very grateful for the room for the night.Very central spot and a good place to sop along the way to or from the Scottish Highlands.

Spent a week at the Monorene for a walking holiday. Excellently hosted by Malcolm & Joan with comfortable rooms and an excellent breakfast that kept me fuelled for the day. Malcolm also helpfully supplied info on where to eat and drink in Gala. Handily located for the bus station which gave us an opportunity to spend a rest day in Edinburgh. Highly recommended.

I stayed at the Monorene for 4nights with my mum and son aged 6 and daughter aged 10. It Had the best location for me close to everything. The car park at the back of the building. It was great value for money . The owners Joan and Malcom were warm and friendly very welcoming nothing was a prolem for them they were very child friendly. The breakfasts were an Excelate variety freshly cooked. My husband, brother and myself stayed at the Monorene whilst attending Galashiels for my daughter's graduation. I would recommend this b & b as being exceptionally clean, the owner Malcolm and his wife were very friendly and welcoming, and showed a kind interest in their guests. We had a lovely cooked breakfast every morning. Hence the reason we wouldnt hesitate to go back, the added bonus was that its central to the town centre. Not being a lover of b & bs, this experience certainly has me thinking I wouldn't mind doing it again.
