“pathetic, beware of it”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

This is a pathetic and overpriced B&B. We had a horrible experience staying there.
Landlady misbehaved so badly with us and they started swearing at us for just asking milk for my little daughter. Lady's attitude was so terrible and unfriendly that we even thought of finding an alternate accommodation in the night.

We even found a live spider in our bathroom.

All rooms were so cold that we had to ask for spare heater to keep the room warm and when we asked for that lady was too angry and said we cant provide heaters and you have to stay in the cold. Heater was not at all working in the bathrooms. We ended up not taking bath in the morning because bathroom was freezing.

I will never ever recommend this B&B to my fellow travellers.

As for value, this group of 13 persons were charged a lot less than the normal seasonal rate as it was a group and they checked in 3 hours earlier than our normal 3 o`clock check-in. Some then decided they wanted different rooms not the rooms prepared for them. They asked for extra heaters in the "new" rooms which they got. Then they asked for cutlery and crockery to eat in the rooms, this was declined as it is not allowed.
A girl with a baby rang for attention several times to get milk warmed up and also to get baby bottles sterilised, this was all done for her! The girl again rang for attention saying she could not work the monobloc tap (which is clearly marked) on the washbasin and the said the bathroom heater was off. I showed her how to work the tap and then tried the heater, it did not work at that time. I found out in the morning the heater itself had overloaded possibly due to misuse but it came on in the morning and is working perfectly. I took up a spare fan heater for the girl to use to heat the bathroom if required and I was not asked to remove the arachnaphobe at any time.
In the morning at breakfast the party received everything they asked for, even cheese sandwiches!
After check-out we had to ask the man who was in a seafront room to explain the mess on the setee in his room. He came with another man and we showed him the stains, it was evident it had just happened as it was still wet! They became very irate and loud and tried to deny it was
their mess. At this point my wife left and I had to remain calm and told them to keep calm also and leave quietly.
A german couple that come regularly to stay with us told us later that morning they had asked this party to keep the noise down at 9:30 and then at 11;30 that evening, in her own word she said there was" crying, screeching, laughing and general noise"
It is amazing how some parties and individuals are so demanding and others just enjoy the comfort, the ambience, the good food and spectaular views from our four star guesthouse.
which was secured again,on a surprise visit on 25th february 2013.

Stayed here last minute, was offered an affordable price for a room with a view of the bay. The owner Sandra made us feel welcome and gave us help with our travel plans.
Breakfast included a hot or cold option, served in a beautiful dining room with a view of the bay. The bedroom was very comfortably furnished, fresh linens in the bathroom, tea and biscuits, hair dryer and bathrobes provided in the room.
The guest house is walking distance from several shops and restaurants on the bay, Boots and Tesco about a mile or two away. Eat at Cuan Mor just around the corner--amazing beer and local food!
Oban is a great place to stay if you want to drive up the coast to Inverness; we drove there and back in a day and back with plenty of sight seeing stops along the way. Oban was only about 3 or 4 hours drive from Edinburgh, again, with a few stops along the way.

After booking the deluxe family room and getting a sea view we were pleasantly surprised. A massive room with comfortable beds and neat little en suite. When checking out a were asked for more money than expected, basically our room allocation was incorrect however after a quick discussion and written proof of my booking email we were thankfully charged as expected and all was amicably settled.
The hotel is a short walk along the esplanade to town and a lovely spot for a view out to the islands.
Spent a lovely day trip over to Mull, which I can highly recommend especially if you can get to Tobermory.
The hotel breakfast was delicious and filling.

We stayed here for one night. We got a room on the 3rd floor front of the house. The view was great but the bed was not the most comfortable. This B&B was walking distance from town and right across from the water. Great views of The Island of Mull. Very nice breakfast. Now that I have been to a few B&B's around the world I know why collectors (hoarders) open B&B's. They need LOTS of space to display all of their "stuff".

Room Tip: Get a room on one of the top floors facing the water.

We stayed for one night in October. The room we had, at thefront of the house, had the most mazingview out to sea and the islands. The room was huge and opulently furnished; bed was also pretty big and very, very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice of main course as well as cereals, fruit and plenty of toast. The owner was most helpful about places to eat close by. Altoether we would thoroughly recommend this place and would return to it if we were in Oban again.

Room Tip: Go for the sea view

Corriemar House is an excellent place to stay for the avid explorer of the scottish countryside. The building itself is very "olde worlde" and does have a few too many artifacts for my particular taste but having said that the service and facilities are excellent and the views are to die for! I shall certainly put Corriemar House on my to stay list.Friendly owners and very good selection of well cooked foods await the tired traveller.Sorry Issy M your review just doesn't cut the mustard with me,cheers.

Room Tip: Room 6 has everything and more....enjoy!

Lovely lady. Charming room. Magnificient view (#12). Warm welcome. Good advice on where to eat for dinner, where to go for the ferry or for shopping. Oban is magnificient. The Island of Mull (Tobermory and Duart Castle, in particular) is a MUST.
