“Great Find in Oban!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2012

Somehow managed to book a seaview room for our last-minute trip to Oban to enjoy the unseasonably warm weather at the end of March. We were so glad to have found The Old Manse - the room was very clean and comfortable with a gorgeous view of the harbor, Anna and Simon were lovely and made us feel very much at home, and the breakfast was delicious (we'd decided to consume as much fish as possible during our visit to Oban, and so I ordered the scrambled eggs with smoked haddock, and I'm so glad I did!). The location was perfect - an easy walk to town but high enough on the hill to give a nice view of the water. Anna and Simon were very helpful with their suggestions for lunch and diner locations, which came in very handy as we hadn't had time to do much research on Oban ahead of time.

Hope to come back when we have time to stay longer and enjoy a glass of wine in the lovely garden! And Simon and Anna, don't forget to let us know if you decide to open a guesthouse in Hawaii! :)

Excellent accomodation booked very efficiently at short notice. Rooms were very clean and the beds very comfortable. Excellent breakfasts with a good choice (try the scrambled eggs with smoked haddock - delicious!) and I liked the idea of the room-service light suppers (though we did not try them). Really enjoyed meeting Simon and Anna, who were welcoming and friendly and full of useful information. I would recommend this B & B to anyone.

Booked this for our 40th anniversary and couldn't have picked a better place. Room had an excellent view and had all the comforts of home. Breakfast was delicious and the hospitality was second to none. Friends of ours also stayed and they were made as welcome as we were. Location was ideal and easy access to sea front and restaurants. Thank you Simon and Anna.

I stayed for 5 nights in February. The rooms are very comfortable with everything to make the stay very convenient. But most important is Help I Received from Anna and Simon. Before I arrived they gave me a lot of information on the subjects I needed. During the stay over they helped me in all the logistics I needed. They efforts were far beyond what is expected from a guesthouse owner to do. Thanks for that my time in oban was very comfortable and useful.

Just returned from a four night stay with friends at this excellent guest house. A warm welcome from Simon with a glass of bubbly on arrival. An excellent breakfast each morning cooked by Anna, spacious clean homely bedrooms, with a decanter of sherry on the tea tray too! New Years Eve got off to a good start with fireworks on the lawn overlooking the bay with mulled wine, an unexpected extra along with the hand made chocs in the room.

Room Tip: Large bathroom with bath on the ground floor Loveley view of the bay from room 2

We really enjoyed our 5 nights stay in the Old Manse Guest House a lot. Perfect for families. The family suite had two separated rooms and a rather small but nice en-suite bathroom. Wonderful view from the breakfast room. Very special cooked breakfast. The kids loved the pancakes! Only a short walk to the town centre. Very nice hosts who make you feel welcome.
