“Don't judge a book...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2013

From the outside, Sloans looks rather grand, and then you walk in. It is a pub and we thought we had made a mistake, however, the food is great.

The scampi was presented in an innovative way and the coleslaw was lovely and creamy and the tartare sauce was also very nice and creamy.

Would recommend Sloans for somewhere to eat.

“AVOID”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

Sloans/Waterfront. 2013.

Had the worst afternoon of my life in this place.

SHOULD BE AVOIDED

Slow, inncorrect service, extremely unproffessional, other patrons subjected to abuse and loud shouting during my visit by what appeared to be the local village idiot, who obviously had drank more than they could handle, to which the staff done nothing about....except pour more drinks. Unbelieveable.

This at 3pm in the afternoon with around 15 people in the venue.

The staff were absolutely useless. All dressed ridiculously. No uniforms. Didn't know who worked there and who didn't.

Messed up orders and were waiting 50 minutes on food coming although the place was empty. When it did come it was the wrong order. Another twenty minute wait.

Bigotted abuse was shouted from one end of the restruant to the other, to which the staff done nothing about. A horrible, frightening experience. Suprised no one called the police. I attend footbal games on a weekly basis and never hear any thing like I did in this place. If this happened in any other place, any other venue if any kind, I am certain the police would be called or at the very least those responsible asked to leave. Failure of the staff to take any sort of action lead to an uncomfortable afternoon for every one else.

A humiliating, disgusting afternoon, which will never be repeated. Have visited various locations across Scotland on many occasions and was astounded by what I witnessed in this awful place. Never had such an experience.

If you are looking for a drink or a meal, in a friendly, safe enviorment then stay away from here. Words cannot describe how awful it is, and those who run the place should be ashamed.

If you are looking to have abuse shouted at you multiple times, be humiliated in front of others, and be ignored by staff, and pay for the experience of it all then this is the place for you :-)
