“Fabulous Repeat Stay”

Dungallan House Hotel

Jun 22, 2008

This is our third stay at Dungallon House, its fabulous and deserves its 5 stars. My husband and I have worked on yachts all over the world for many years and know a good hotel and this is one. The hotel is spotless, the decor charming, rooms are perfect with small touches above the tea and coffee making facilities, like rubber duck for the bath, chocolates and fruit in your room, thick bath robes, huge fluffy bath towels it all adds up.

The owners Mike and Marion are tremendous hosts and have the ability to make each guest feel very special, a rare gift these days!!! I cannot recommend enough and know you all will enjoy every moment from the wonderful breakfast with smiley bananas to the bar with hundreds of malt whiskies and a fine wine selection. Enjoy!!!!

What a find! We pulled up the drive and were amazed from the first site of the house and the gorgeous view of the bay and the beginning of the very long sunset. The owners are great - very relaxed and accommodating. The 2 rooms I saw were huge and both w excellent views. The wine/whiskey bar was very chill and had an enormous selection of single malts. The Seafood Temple across the street was an outstanding dining experience. Breakfast at the hotel in the morning was first rate - we had a nice selection of made to order food and the presentation was superb. Overall I cant say enough positive things about this place - you feel special from the moment you walk in the door and Mike and Marion shake your hand. Thanks Mike for the route suggestion as well - Glencoe Orchy was a gorgeous drive!

“Delightfull Dungallan”

Dungallan House Hotel

May 26, 2008

We were blessed with the best blue skies at the weekend, which was the perfect backdrop for our stay at Dungallan House Hotel. This is a place of warm hospitality, comfort and first class service. The views are second to none and it really is just a ten minute stroll into Oban, if not less. Dungallan House is the perfect base for island hopping and exploring this gorgeous part of Scotland. Although dinner was not available, you have the Seafood Temple just across the road (fantastic), sittings at 6 and 8pm and of course the whole of Oban.
Breakfast was marvellous, what else could one want when tucking into the 'Full Highland' but to gaze over the water to the islands and beyond.
Go there, see for yourself and may I wish you the bluest of skies.

“Lovely place to stay”

Dungallan House Hotel

May 13, 2008

We originally booked in for one night but ended staying for three! A beautiful guest house on the edge of Oban (only a ten minute walk into the centre). It has fantastic views over the town and out over to Kerrera (sp?) and Mull; sitting having breakfast (which was great by the way!) with a view like that was a perfect start to the day.

Oban is a great base if you are thinking of going off to Mull, Iona, Staffa and up and down the coast. The cost of a three isles trip was about £45 per person. Cal. Mac. ferries dock in the harbour and go to a variety of places.

The owners were really helpful, advising on day trips, walks and even car garages (the brakes lasted all the way home by the way!). There is a well stocked bar although admittedly we did not get around to putting it to test, maybe next time!

Highly recommended.

“Worth Every Star!”

Dungallan House Hotel

May 6, 2008

A beautifully maintained property, with the best views of Oban and the islands, owned and run by real professionals with great character, charm, and personality.
A very short taxi drive or 20 minute walk to a large choice of restaurants for evening meals.
An even shorter walk to the Hotel's own stock of around 100 malt whiskies!
