“Very Comfortable Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

Theres not really much to fault with this B&B. It's warm and welcoming with beautiful views from the guest lounge. The bedroom was nice, although the bed was a little uncomfortable. The huge pillows were great though! It was also very quiet. Shower room was a bit small, but apart from that, everything else was perfect for our one night stay. Good breakfast too, All in all, a nice place from which to explore Oban.

our old lumpy mattress had a knackered topper felt like sleeping on top of a duvet.
Breakfast was bad, cheap sausages, undercooked tomato and average fried eggs.
No mushrooms or beans.
Host was helpful with local area information and building itself is charming.
But with a bad nights sleep and a poor breakfast, saw little value for money.

The rooms may not be larger, but they are tastefully decorated, well equipped, quiet and cosy. The host is very friendly, helpful and efficient. Superb location with great views over Oban, the centre of which is only minutes away on foot. great choise of breakfasts, which are all very tasty and quickly served. And very modestly priced on top, This place should have 4 stars! One of my favorite places to stay, highly recommended.

Room Tip: Any room is fine

Loved this place. Our hosts couldn’t have been more welcoming. The rooms are excellent and the piano room at the top is incredible (think they must have built the piano into the place!)
Wholehearted recomendation!

A little cramped within the room, but other than that we could find no fault. The host was very friendly, and provided a lot of useful advice about our plans in Oban/restaurants/bars. The location is very convenient and gives a great view of the city below. The house itself is beautiful... I would absolutely stay here again...

3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2012

A strange house with a mix of old, new and tacky. Nice paintings in the hall mixed with a photo of the owner dressed in a feather boa. The stairs were enormous and unsuitable for any one with a disablity or bad knees. This is not helped by the location on top of a very steep hill. The breakfast room was small, cluttered and the breakfast could have been better without Tesco own brand sausages. My husbands black pudding still had the plastic coating on it. There was a good amount of information about the area and Alex was quite amenable. The lady of the house quite the opposite. When told that I did not want a full breakfast she said she might remember to tell her husband but then also might forget! A bit stuffy I thought and not very approachable. Parking was ok and it is near the town. Rather expensive when compared to B&B nearby. Lounge had no tv and was told that this was so people could read. It was stuffed full of furniture and a very noisy clock that strikes every hour (including all night) I thought the lounge was supposed to be a sociable area and would it not be better to read in your room? The mattress had completey gone and was only saved by a thick mattress topper that was two inches too big all the way round. Made for an interesting night trying not to roll off the bed.

Room Tip: All rooms at the top of very steep stairs.
